Rachel Jefferies & Lynn Grieveson Hear My Voice 39: Planning

Journaling Reads:
After having increasing pain, and reduced mobility over the past several years from osteo arthritis in my left hip my surgeon and I decided it was time for a total hip replacement which was scheduled for January 26, 2026. I put it off for several months so that I would not be in recovery when my first grandchild was born at the end of September as I was my daughter’s second support person at the delivery. January seemed like a good time as I’d be home bound and recovering during the Winter months when not much is happening anyway. Little did I know there would be a big snowstorm that threatened to postpone my surgery -- it didn’t -- but it was touch and go, and then another one with 3 feet of snow a few weeks later. I managed to hold it together and stay positive during my recovery which is going very well. I won’t be completed recovered for a few more months but I already have little to no pain, and can walk farther, and have greatly increased mobility. I’m so glad I had the surgery. No more dealing with restrictions from my bad hip. [Journaling 12 April 2026]
