Journaling Reads: After having increasing pain, and reduced mobility over the past several years from osteo arthritis in my left hip my surgeon and I decided it was time for a total hip replacement which was scheduled for January 26, 2026. I put it off for several months so that I would not be in recovery when my first grandchild was born at the end of September as I was my daughter’s second support person at the delivery. January seemed like a good time as I’d be home bound and recovering during the Winter months when not much is happening anyway. Little did I know there would be a big snowstorm that threatened to postpone my surgery -- it didn’t -- but it was touch and go, and then another one with 3 feet of snow a few weeks later. I managed to hold it together and stay positive during my recovery which is going very well. I won’t be completed recovered for a few more months but I already have little to no pain, and can walk farther, and have greatly increased mobility. I’m so glad I had the surgery. No more dealing with restrictions from my bad hip. [Journaling 12 April 2026]
This is a beautiful layout. I enjoy the fact that you used darker more muted tones for your accents and ephemera, yet gave it a hopeful look. I also like how the column of journaling was used as part of the vertical line of sight.
Great job, and thank you for sharing the journaling about your health update. I am so glad you are doing so much better.
Congratulations on your smooth recovery on your THR! I work with clients after they've had hip and knee replacements, as well as clients with osteoporosis and hyper mobility. It's great that you are feeling like things are going well.
I like all the layers you stacked under your photo. Even though you used one small photo, the elements and their placement draw the eye right to you! Lovely work
I hope you are healing up perfectly from your THR, this page is lovely. I love the layers, the colors, I'm glad you took that selfie at surgery. I also love the owls and that bee in the corner.

Love your page design here and that cute picture of you ready for surgery. I'm so glad your recovery is going well and you're already seeing benefits from the hip replacement. I know several people who have done it and said they loved having it done.
