oh my god- what a heartbreaking journey to witness for anyone, let alone your mum, i'm so sorry; the resistance from her and her partner i'm sure made everything harder on you but i'm glad you made the drive for the end which had to be even harder. it's such a sad reality of our medical system how many people are waiting for places at other facilities to move on to and how quickly things can change with alzheimer's and dementia- i hope this was cathartic to document, she certainly sounded like a character that i'm glad found some that appreciated her, feisty and all, and it's a lovely photo [hugs]
So sorry for your loss. I lost someone dear to me to dementia last year. It is such a hard thing to go through. This is a very beautiful and honest tribute x
Sending hugs.. what a heartfelt tribute to your Mum. Sincere condolences to you and your family on the passing of your Mum. So glad you stepped in when you did and you were with her at the end when she needed you most for that transition. I remember that well with my Dad as I held his hand. It was a precious gift Kirstie.
