I was away for a few days this week and really enjoyed the little mini-vacay with a friend. No cooking, no schedule, other than attending a birding presentation at a nature center. We drove randomly, enjoying the scenery and photographing birds, not knowing each day where we would drive, just winging it and finding areas to explore. A bonus was coming across a few snow geese and I got one flying before he lifted up too high to see well, which I was thrilled to get.

What about you?

Any recent trips? Long or short? Or even just stay home but take a break from the usual routine and chores, just relax and pamper yourself?

I'm doing my own version of "spring break" this week. Lol. My hubby is gone on a fishing trip all week, so I planned my menu around things he doesn't like, but that I do and I'm having granny crafting every evening. It's been a fun little break for me at home. I took Monday and this afternoon off work too. All that to say, that I love at home vacations.

Next weekend I'm taking a short trip to Chicago to visit a friend who lives there and we are going to a concert on a river boat which should be pretty fun. I'm looking forward to that.

It’s been spring break for my kids this week so we’ve had a more relaxed schedule. I’m looking forward to our first family cruise end of May.

On March 19, I went on a historical tour sponsored by my county's historical society. We went to a county about 45 minutes from us. Our first stop was at the Wilson factory where all footballs for the NFL are made. Loved it! In the same town is a university (the one my mom attended and graduated from) where there is an outdoor exhibit of 12 monument replicas including 10 by Frederick Remington. They are American Western sculptures. We then ventured to the county seat where we toured the county historical museum and the county courthouse. Then had lunch and headed home.

The last week of March was spring break for me. I didn't go on a trip, but it was definitely a relaxing rejuvenating week, and one day I did drive an hour away and see a new place, so that's something.

I don't have any upcoming trips planned but still thinking I might go to Washington State over summer break to see my oldest kid.

I am leaving in the morning with my oldest son and his family to go to a Savannah Bananas baseball game in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. It's only about 3 hours from here, but it will be nice to get away for a coule of days :) I haven't been anywhere since last summer!

I had a four-day weekend last week. I *almost* went somewhere, but I really didn't want to pay for gas...cuz yikes! So, I just had a nice few days doing nothing much, scrapping, laundry, watching baking shows and getting caught up on Shrinking.

I love a good day trip or overnighter! I am going with friends overnight on Monday on a quick backpacking trip in the Uintah mountains, staying overnight in a yurt. I also have a big trip planned this summer to Denmark! My niece lives there and will be our tour guide - I'm so excited!

My mom, son, and I did a quick day trip to Gatorland last Friday. It was more crowded than we expected so I couldn't get him to agree to see any of the shows but I did get to see all the new and updated exhibits. The White Gator Swamp will forever be my favorite but all the updated crocodile enclosures made me really happy too, especially the American crocodile ones. He didn't want to pet or feed a gator this time (boo) but we still had a great time.

No trips, but took off a few days here and there for mini breaks from work. Enjoyed the time scrapbooking and reading on my iPad.

I'm going to Utah for three days next week for my daughter in laws graduation from Dental Hygiene school.
In May I'm going to Virginia for a week with my husband who has a conference there he's attending.

In March we took a 4 day trip to Port Elizabeth and then two weeks later flew to Durban and cruises to Cape Town. It did feel like two mini breaks and it was good. No more in the works though. Hoping that changes.

I am on a birthday trip right now (today is my birthday) and I will be in Washington state for the week. Today I am heading to Skagit Valley for the tulip festival. I can't wait to take in all the beauty!!! I absolutely love to travel. Usually my trips are a week long but sometimes just a weekend. I often don't have a set itinerary but I do research most trips and make a list of possible sights to see and then match them up with the weather and my energy of what I feel like doing that day.

No trips for the net few weeks. We are ramping up on getting ready for senior prom and our daughter's graduation, so the only trip we will take between now and June is a weekend 3 hours north to Bremerton to spend Memorial Day weekend with family. Beach time!!!

We are going on a three day road trip to Fairmont Hot Springs for my birthday in a couple of weeks. I can't wait, especially as we will be having visitors to entertain shortly after that, so its a nice chance to relax first.

My travel plans are going to see my son graduate in May and going out to California to celebrate my dad and step mom's 50th wedding anniversary in Sept. They are both momentous events, but not new places.
