I am now officially on summer break :cheer :yahoo :clap:happydance
But that means no more schedule and no more routine. And while that's great in some ways, it really messes with me in others. I am much more productive with a schedule. Without one, I tend to be a little more scattered and then don't end up doing things that I probably should lol. I'm going out of town to my granddaughters high school graduation for a couple of days this week and I probably should have gotten the laundry done and a few other things today, but the my mind says "pffft, you're on break, it can wait". Tomorrow, I'll be wishing I'd done some of it today :groan

Do you plan out your day or just wing it?
What's your favorite way to waste 15 minutes that turns into an hour?
If your life had office hours, what would they be?

Hey, we educators need a few days to recover, so it's ok!

I love to wing it but I plan too, when necessary.
Reading -- whether a novel, articles, TLP, or social media -- is my favorite way to spend "a little time" that turns into a much longer amount of time than I meant.
My office hours would be something like 8:00 - 10:00. Maybe noon. How long would they need to be? I'm a morning bird, but like to have a few hours to myself first.

I've been winging it since I retired last September, but I agree that I'm more productive on a schedule. I'll likely get more structure at some point but I'm still relishing not having a schedule or having to be in the office 5 days a week.

Would be best if I planned cause I'd probably get more done but I wing it. As detailed as I get is a monthly whiteboard calendar

You're making a bold asumption that it only turns into an hour .....
Scrolling on social media is the main culprit here as is watching shows on my phone

If your life had office hours, what would they be?
11am onwards though afternoon is even better.....the later the better. Not saying that it's impossible for me to do earlier but there better be a good reason for it!

I would like to think that I can function efficiently without a schedule but I would be lying to myself. I need the structure or I will just ditz around, starting and stopping different things and never finishing anything. As much as I dislike working, I know that I need the routine it brings
:giggle

Little bit of both. We have a routine here but it doesn't have set times, other than appointments

What's your favorite way to waste 15 minutes that turns into an hour?
Catching up on scrapbooking blogs and forums

If your life had office hours, what would they be?
That first hour of my day, when my husband and son are still asleep, is the best time for me to get things done

Do you plan out your day or just wing it? I have a basic outline, because of work 5 days a week, but left to my own devices, there is only winging it. The minute I try to implement a schedule, I start rebelling from it immediately.

What's your favorite way to waste 15 minutes that turns into an hour? I have been playing this game called Township on my phone for seven years+. If I hadn't opened my laptop, I would be playing it until I left for work in an hour and fifteen minutes.

If your life had office hours, what would they be? Probably 5 am to noon. I have always been a morning person, and nothing make me feel more like me than an afternoon nap...especially if it can be in the sun like it was yesterday. There might be a little evening spurt around 4pm-6pm, but there's no going out in the evening very often.

I always try to give myself a little grace the first week or so because I'm exhausted lol
I'm a morning bird as well, but I need a little time with coffee first. But I would say I'm most productive before noon.

You definitely deserve to wing it for awhile!! Enjoy that retirement!

Haha Yes, an hour was a pretty bold assumption. Social media gets me as well.

I get it. By the end of summer, I really need that routine again!

Yes! I am more productive when there's not other people puttering around the house lol

Yep, before noon for me as well with a little spurt in the evening. I do love me an afternoon nap :)

Do you plan out your day or just wing it? If I have an upcoming weekend with free time, I love to plan for what "project" I'm going to work on. If I don't think ahead, I'll putter around and waste half a day or more before I decided what to do with myself.

What's your favorite way to waste 15 minutes that turns into an hour? Either reading, or playing on my phone, usually either Instagram or a block puzzle game.

If your life had office hours, what would they be? 11:42 am - 11:44 am Then leave me alone. :rofl

I love your office hours! Perfect!! :lol

My schedule is somewhat loose. During the school year I know that I have Tuesday and Thursday school pickup. Other scheduled activities include my classes at the YMCA. Other than that, I just sort of "go with the flow". Good thing, as I'm still not 100% sure of exactly what my grandson's summer schedule is. I know he started a summer camp session this week, not sure how long it is, or when the next session starts. Wasting 15 minutes? Usually involves checking on email or the forum here. Office hours? No thank you.

I usually wing it except for the days I have scheduled appointments. The previous night I will tentatively plan my day as in what errands do I need to do but sometimes I push them back a day or 2 or put something on the schedule the next morning for that day. Like today, I called to get boarding for Peyton while I'm gone. The business phone is the owner's cell phone. She was at home and didn't have the records in front of her. She wanted me to text her the info and she'd call me back when she was at the kennel. I told I'd prefer to talk to her so I would stop out. I ended up talking with her husband and got everything scheduled and my specific question answered. So while I was out I went to the bank to get money for tips on my trip (it is a tour with guides and tips for housekeeping at hotels) then I stopped at my cousin's to update her on the plans for Peyton since she is somewhat involved. So my plan for doing a load of laundry today went out the window. Maybe tomorrow.

As for wasting 15 minutes, a lot of things can help me do that. Too many to list. And, office hours. Nope, not for me anymore! Although I am not a morning person so no early morning stuff for me!

Do you plan out your day or just wing it?
Half and half.
What's your favorite way to waste 15 minutes that turns into an hour?
Laying in bed scrolling my phone.

Office hours as in when people can bother me? Any time before 8pm. After that I’m too grumpy!
