Heart Health Month

So, have you ever participated in a specific Heart Health Event?
I don't think I have, but maybe when I was in school.

Will you wear red this coming Friday?
If I remember I might. I have very little red in my closet because I do not like it on me!

Are there any habits you have as part of your routine, or that you will adopt?
I struggle with managing my cholesterol and triglycerides, so I try to do as much as I can. I meet with a nutritionist who has given me lots of great advice as far as how I can eat better. I did so well with the gym last summer and my numbers were the best they've ever been, but then fall hit...my mom was in the hospital and then all that came after that. Then we've pretty much been snowed in for a month lol. As soon as this weather breaks, I am getting back in there before my next blood work!!
You had a lot going on, I might have to go with a bright pink as red is not a feature in my wardrobe. I might have a tank that counts as red, but it is too big. Although I think our weather might cooperate with that options! Cheering you on for getting back on track.

So, have you ever participated in a specific Heart Health Event? Yes, I used to participate in Jump Rope for Heart when I was in school.
My three kids all participating in something similar while they were in elementary school. My son was born with a congenital heart defect, so heart month is very dear to my heart. You can't imagine how difficult it is to go through something like that until you actually do.
Will you wear red this coming Friday? Yes!
Are there any habits you have as part of your routine, or that you will adopt? Walking daily

I can imagine it is very dear to you. My mom had two valve replacements in her lifetime, so heart health is close to my heart too. (She's been gone a long time now.)

Will you wear red this coming Friday? Probably not, I only own a couple of red things
Are there any habits you have as part of your routine, or that you will adopt? I walk 3 miles, 5 days a week, and I lift weights 3x a week. I try to eat heart healthy - I'm not super healthy but I would say I'm "balanced", and I've never smoked.

Balanced is good!

My heart actually screamed at me a few years back! Luckily, I was able to be referred to a good cardiologist and went through some intense testing on my heart. I had to give up coffee, rock stars, and other stimulants. I can have one small cup of coffee with my bible and Jesus in the morning, and tea now and again.
I probably won't wear red on Friday, but I will have my Apple Watch on, and that keeps me aware of my heart rate!

I’m sorry to hear you had that scare, but super glad you got the testing and advice to guide your lifestyle changes.
