- This one's about the place I was born. I've been doing some Ancestry.com searching and it is amazing how my people made it from Ireland, Wales, England and Germany/Prussia, to the midwestern state of Iowa. Years ago, a designer I worked with had this set of postmarks I downloaded and to my surprise, one of them was a postmark from my town, Burlington, Iowa. We moved to Oregon in 1966, but wow...a lot of my people lived there and in the Illinois town across the river.
