Welcome, June! Can you believe we're almost half way through the year?? Yikes.

The winner selected for May's challenge was @kirstiegai. Congrats! I am going out of town, so I wanted to get the challenge done before I leave in the morning.

Each month, a broad theme will be provided for the challenge and you can interpret these themes as literally or as loosely and abstractly as you wish. We know everyone is really busy, so we're going to make things a bit simpler so you can just get a page scrapped and checked off your to-do list.

This month's theme is QUIET. I hope I'm not the only one who yearns for some quiet time to happen in June. That is one way to approach the theme, but there are many other interpretations for sure: pets, nature, colors, hobbies, the lack of noise, the lack of quiet time, what you do when you (or someone else) wants quiet. Do you avoid quiet and always require background noise? There's so much to explore. I am eager to see what you can come up with and who/what it involves.

So many of Rachel's kits can fall under the theme of QUIET.

I chose the Eidos kit. It doesn't scream quiet, but it is a very flexible kit, I love it, and wanted to get it out and play with it. I'm heading to New Hampshire for an art retreat in the woods, so I am channeling my inner wishes for my trip with this page.

I immediatly thought of this day and these photos when I read this month's theme.

The sun is shining and we are on vacation. We take the trip up to the pond and there is no one else here! Just birds chirping, the wind rustling the leaves; silence. There is something especially peaceful about this place. You don't hear any cars or sounds from civilization, so you can almost forget that it exists. When we arrived here today we were greeted by hundreds of tadpoles. Arion was not interested in swimming with them. It was cold in the water anyway so it was a short trip, but good to get out.

This photo in my camera roll made me stop and pause. Looking at her little expression, soaking in the atmosphere of being away from home on a family holiday. Our apartment backed onto woodlands and we had a lovely spot to sit and take in the view. It was quiet, and watching her take everything in and making peaceful little memories calmed my own nervous system.

I used my new Sarda and Salt BYOC Collection and Lynn's This Endures templates helped me to build this page.
