JOURNALING: Last year, whenever a client wouldn’t follow through, answer an email, sign a form or get back to us, I started saying, “What is WRONG with people?” This phrase popped up all the time, and became a most-often repeated phrase in the office. It didn’t apply to just clients...it could be to a story we saw on social media, talking about family, politics, the world in general: What is WRONG with people? So, for Christmas, though Bruce and Cheyenne got us each a very lovely gift, Cheyenne got us both a “gag gift.” Adelya got a puzzle box that I think she and her husband are still trying to open, and got me this “easy” button already loaded with Cheyenne saying, “What is WRONG with people?” It was the funniest, most thoughtful gift I’d received in a long time. Just the idea that someone noticed I was saying this a lot and thought it was funny and endearing meant so much. Now I don’t have to say it, I can just push the button. And sometimes, we push it a lot!
Oh my gosh! This is beyond fantastic! I loved reading your journaling and loved that you received such a fun and thoughtful gift. I've seen those buttons, but I didn't know you could record something on them... That is fabulous! Everything about your page design is magic on here too!
You have inspired me! I love your documentation of this story and your scrapping is spot-on! Decades ago before there were "influencers", DH decided he wanted to start a new trending phrase and he decided it was going to be "It's a nice product" when there was something that you liked. Yes, the phrase is incredibly inane but over the years, we have managed to get various family members and friends to get on board and one friend even bought him cocktail classes that say "Nice Product" on them. Obviously, I need to make a page.
