For the MOC 5 January 12 Challenge (Filled Template)
Journaling: “This was the 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid that was Mark's primary vehicle. He was driving to work one morning, when the car in front of the SUV ahead of him stopped suddenly for no apparent reason. The SUV was able to stop just in time, but Mark wasn't quite so lucky on the wet road. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but our Honda was pretty well crunched. Mark managed to drive the car home, but he didn't feel comfortable driving it anywhere else to get it evaluated, so the insurance company arranged for a tow.
The tow truck arrived bright and early the next morning - only to break down right in front of our house. Apparently it had a broken fan belt. I wish I had taken some pictures of the driver as he disappeared inside the enormous hood to try to fix it – the truck was much bigger than it looked!
After several frustrating hours of waiting on parts and working on the repair, the driver finally got the engine fixed, loaded up the car, and was on his way. Unfortunately, the car was declared a total loss, so we had to say goodbye. Feb. 24, 2016”
