Journaling:
Thirteen years is a significant time. Becoming a mother was definitely the most defining moment for the past 13 years. I didn’t know what to expect (do we ever?). Nothing truly prepares you for how the world rearranges itself. And I’m still learning, still becoming, still grateful for the not-knowing that led me here.
Looking back, these years aren’t defined by milestones alone, but by the quiet transformation in between of learning, unlearning, and growing alongside the people who made me more than I was.
Maybe some thirteen years ago I believed that effort alone could predict and shape my days. I drew straight lines and called them plans, but life answered in curves, interruptions, and quiet pains I never penciled in. I learned control is an illusion and things that didn’t go as planned are also meaningful.
Beautiful page Maaike, and wonderful journaling. I love that adorable photo of your babies So sweet and love the way you did your journaling. Just beautiful!
