This week is all about ART class! :love For this week's challenge we are going to be using the Pen Tool Tutorial to create a fun artsy flower bouquet! Our flower bouquet will be created using multiple shapes that will be covered in mixed media paper bits (and even paint or stamps if you'd like!) to add lots of great color variation and textures to your bouquet.

The basic idea of this challenge is to create shapes to mimic the shapes of flowers, the stems and even a vase if you'd like.

You can find an amazing selection of mixed media/artsy products in the store:

    ART class Challenge
    - Create multiple shapes to mimic flowers, stems, leaves and possibly a container
    - Cover the shapes with mixed media type papers. Use at least 5 papers.
    - Add paint splatters or gesso or brushes for additional texture.

    My sample bouquet:

This was definitely a challenge! I'm afraid of the Pen tool! I made 10 different shapes and then copied and transformed them.

This was so much fun Karen! I made the three flowers, three centers, and vase with the pen tool and used five mixed media papers.

Here's my layout for this week's challenge to create a flower bouquet. With PaintShop Pro, I used the Freehand Selection Tool to create the 7 flower and 1 stem shapes that I used in my bouquet. I also used the tool to "cut out" a butterfly from one of the papers to add to the bouquet.

loved this idea Karen! Especially loved the crackled paint texture in your vase and i think that led me to choose some kind of painted inspo piece to kickstart my process.
Lots of paper petal-ish and leaf-ish shapes made with the pen tool and stamp/brush & gesso layers with extra doodley stuff by NBK, Rachel J, Lynn G & AWA (because i don't know when to stop with the mixed media) - a scrap process blog post with various work-in-progress screenshots still to come

ETA: I got my blog post finished - it's here https://the-lilypad.com/abstract-mixed-media-florals-with-the-pen-tool/
