Okay, I've never been a 'girlie girlie' or one to have my nails done up. But it seems that I'm not in the majority! There just seems something wrong with big fake nails that keep breaking off and chipping and interferring with typing on a keyboard. So tell me, are you a long or short 'nailed' girl?
I HATE fake nails. I tried them a few times in college and they just annoyed me. Now I can't even imagine having them with two little ones. I keep mine as short and unpolished as possible! lol.
Shorter is better for typing on the computer at work and don't even talk to me about using an iPhone with long nails! Mine range from what most people would consider medium to long but they are natural nails. They seem to be getting a lot more brittle though!
Being a cosmetologist and nail tech I have had acrylic nails for years, but currently my nails are short and natural. I love the look of longer nails on myself generally, but I get sick of taking the time to do them every 2 weeks. I did just get the shellac done before our vacation and loved that - just a thicker polish cured onto the nail so that it stays longer and my nails grew a little, which is a rarity.
blech. short. i'm a bit obsessive about washing dishes, so my nailpolish/nails never stay nice for long.
I've never been one that's worried about their nails, but I have tried to keep mine shorter because I find myself scratching my kids (on accident of course) when I let them grow naturally. I don't think I've painted my nails in at least 2 years, it just chips or smudges and is a waste of time for me.
I go through phases of short (biting them) to long (for me that is a little longer than how they look if I did bite them ). If I keep them painted I mess with them less but they get chipped so easily because of cleaning so in the end they only stay pretty for a day or two.
Mine are short too and I rarely ever put polish on them. If I let them go, they would grow long and do grow like weeds it seems. I have to cut them for typing and so I can play on my iPhone too of course. When they start clicking on the keyboard it's type to chop 'em off again!
i keep mine short. . . and i've been using the Shellac or Gelish polish on them for about half a year now. i really like it~ love having a punch of color that lasts for more than just a couple of days. . . and they are getting more and more colors all of the time!
medium? enough to french them if i want or get them done. but usually get fake 'uns for big adventures like fancy dates or trips! hehe - "french them"
No fake nails here. Tried them back in college and hated what they did to my nailbeds. I keep them fairly short only because they annoy me when typing as they get longer, but as much milk/cheese as I consume, they tend to grow pretty quickly.
Do bitten nails come into this category?seriously you wouldn't believe how badly I bite mine theyblook disgusting but it's a hard habit to break
LONG ones here I love the look of my hands with long nails. Not acrylic, but I the nail spa applies some powdered gel stuff on top of my real nails (which are long to begin with). The stuff just makes my nails stronger, and lets the nail polish stay on for weeks!
I went years and years of just biting my nails and then 2 years ago I stopped. Sometime around October I started biting them again. I don't know why either because its an awful habit. The thing is....I don't really BITE my nails. They kinda shred and I just pick at 'em.
I've had acrylics for about 18 years. My natural nails are paper thin (literally) and tear very easily, so I have a very hard time functioning without fake nails. I can still type about 100 wpm, so they don't seem to be hurting my typing skills! LOL! I keep them relatively short and get them done every 3 weeks.
