I am very excited to be highlighting the fun and colorful designs of Kim Jensen today. I’ve always loved that you can tell how much time and effort Kim puts into her wonderful designs. I LOVE it when she adds strings or stitches into her products and she has some of the best alphas too! And if you want to add a cool date to your page, man does she have some creative and fun products for that too! Here is a peek at some of my favorite product's of hers: I thought it would be super fun to get to know a little bit more about Kim too, so I did a small get-to-know-you interview with her. 1. How long have you been scrapping and/or designing? I began officially digitally scrapping in 2003, but had started creating scrappy webpages to share photos of my kids a couple of years before that. I evolved into designing through a site creative team and began selling my designs in 2006. 2. Follow up to the first question, how did you discover digital scrapbooking? A friend who did paper scrapping stumbled upon a digital scrapbooking site and sent me a message basically saying "hey, this stuff looks just like your web pages!" I was amazed that there was a whole world of people doing what I thought I had dreamed up on my own, and I was instantly hooked! 3. How much time do you devote to designing? Are you scheduled and structured or do you fit it in where you can? It's mostly just squeezed in when I have time and energy. It varies a lot, from 20-30 hours a week to not at all. There have been a lot more zero weeks than I'd like over the last few years. 4. Are you an introvert or an extrovert? Definitely an introvert. I am totally fine curled up at home on my own. My day job (green-aproned barista) has forced me to come out of my shell and learn to talk to people in a very energetic manner, but it's not my natural inclination. 5. Where do you design? Desktop or laptop? Fully desktop. It's a custom build from 2018, and still going strong. I've been putting off upgrading to Windows 11, partially because I'm afraid of how my machine will handle it, but I'm going to have to give in one of these days. Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly. 6. What is your favorite snack? Depends on my mood. Lately I've been eating way too many sweet and salty nut bars. I will also do string cheese or Cutie oranges. Less often I will have chips, which we almost always have on hand, since that's my husband's go-to. Thanks for hosting, Karen! Here is my new page using Kim's Capricious Bundle (one of my favorites.. just look at that alpha!!) and paint from Emily
My favorite Kim Jensen item -- used many times -- are the Torn Tape Dates. I added the 3rd set to my collection today so I can have more colors.
Well - no big secret here - but Kim is my favorite designer. I've been on her team for ...... Hmm ... don't know? Anyway ... I found my way to Kim's designs much because of her alphas. I'm sure she has a PhD in Alpha Making. Lovely & fun, and she always adds the extra letters. Perfect for us Scandinavians. The alpha freebie that you will get in the newsletter is a perfect example of this. Sign up, if you don's subscribe already. Here's my layout where I've used that alpha. I dug deep into my Kim Stash and mixed and matched.
I couldn't find the picture I was looking for-- it had cactuses on her outfit. I'll look for it when I have a bit more time.
Thanks for hosting Karen! I love your interview questions. Thanks for the awesome new alpha Kim! You're the best!
Thanks so much for hosting, Karen! And thanks to everyone who has shared so far! I'm working my way through the gallery and enjoying everyone's pages so much!
My pleasure! I just followed you through the galley too and admired everyone's fabulous pages with your products. So fun!
I created my layout today specifically for Kim's monthly challenge. I hope it's okay if I share it here also.
