Hello my fellow Lilypadders. I hope you are well. Art Journaling can be many things. It can be a way to work through our emotions; to express ourselves; to explore a quote or a life lesson; to try out new techniques; to explore new art supplies; to explore new styles; to simply play and relax. This month we're going to play with our digital scrapbooking/art journaling supplies. We are going to use our imagination and have fun. This month's theme is imaginary worlds. Lets release our inner child and have some creative fun. My muse for this week is Imaginary Creatures. Have you ever taken some objects and turned them into a monster or alien or robot or other imaginary being? Or created one out of plasticine? My kids were experts at this when they were little. I love adding eyes to flower heads and then giving them arms and legs just for fun. Here's an ATC I created a few years ago, but still look at regularly as it makes me happy. What about those fabulous imaginary creatures in steam punk art of airbuses with fish heads, and clocks with wings, or animals made up entirely of cogs and other metal bits? Perhaps create a collage of paper shapes and ephemera to build up an imaginary animal? Maybe you draw or doodle? Have fun. Explore. Play. Your limit is your own imagination. Create a world for your creature to live in, or pick/edit one of the readymade background scenery papers in the store. I can't wait to see your imaginary creatures coming to life on your pages.
