January 6: Dispersion (Technique Challenge)

Question:

in the first step when you duplicate the photos; I have

Do I work off the very bottom layer -- it appears you are working off the middle layer but not sure.

 

This one was definitely a challenge but fun to try something new.

 

someone asked for a PSE tutorial. I'm working on my layout right now, but found some youtube videos that might help.
Beware of the creepy puppet in the first one, but I did like how he got the dispersion effect and I'm using the duplicated subjects in my rendering of the dispersion.

Note: in PSE 11 and newer the brush options are at the bottom in the tool options.

And this one shows you how to use content-aware in PSE. (No puppets - thank goodness)

Note: He uses the marquee tool, but you can use the lasso or whatever tool you want.

FYI: The Liquify filter is under Filter > Distort > Liquify in PSE.

I did my best, not exactly happy with this, and I can't say I would use this technique, but here is my attempt.

 

This was a very difficult challenge for me.

 

After several attempts, mistakes and re-dos this is what i came up with



I tired again for the slow scrap, much quicker this time!

 

Super fun technique! It's been a while since I played with photos like this! Thanks for the challenge!

 

Finally i have to much trouble trying to make the dispersion =P couldn't use liquify

 

a fun challenge here is mine:

 

When I liquify (which I like the effect) and click the mask; when I invert to black I loose the liquify



Would this be acceptable to use?

 

I've had a play. I made a layout for the 2017 scrapbook album, and played around with an art journal page too.

 

oh Goodness, at some point I had 32 layers open. I played since this morning, my dh took over dinner to let me finish it, he is sweet.

MOC #6ispersion (Technique Challenge)

This was so far out of my comfort zone and nothing like I've ever done before. I'm not 100% happy with my layout, but I've played with it long enough and I'm not sure what else to change having never done anything like this before!
