Here's my layout- I'm trying to get caught up by scrapping older photos for this MOC. Since most of my older photos are from my older (read = crappy) phone camera- they are definitely imperfect. These photos specifically had really weird lighting & a little blurry (especially the two little boys who never hold still!) I really didn't edit them much besides adjusting the brightness.
I have been considering a fun album for a while now, but I just never got around to it. I wanted to make an album full of all the silly faces and funky photos of our family (with their permission of course). This challenge was perfect, it have me the stepping stone to finally start my perfect album full of imperfect photos! I hope this works with the spirit of the challenge and thanks for the challenge, Kim!
"Imperfect" reason: it´s a mobile phone shot. The colors were horrible and there is this shadow on my sons face. But still it´s a photo worth scrapping. It´s three generations in one picture.
You can see that these photos are still not great...I did lighten them, but I wanted to use them anyway as they are the only ones I have for this story.
My first nephew was born 5 years ago. He was born early and soooo tiny. We drove 4 hours to see him. When he was in my arms he grabbed my finger and didn't let go. Because we were in a rush I forgot my camera and had only my phone. One of the best & first pictures I took of him is the one in the top left corner. It's blurry so I changed it to black and white and adjusted the curves. It still isn't in focus, but I love the picture! First-Time-Auntie-[WEB] by Vrielinkie posted Jan 10, 2016 at 4:37 PM
I had to do lots of damage control here. All the colors were wonky, and didn't match anything I had so I changed them to B & W. I also had to run them through the noise filter since they were in my dark dining room and taken with my iPhone. In addition, the one on the bottom right had my guy's really bad face as our daughter hit him in a not so nice place lol, but I adored her innocent expression and didnt want to toss it. HAHAHAHA He'd kill me if he knew I posted this:
One of my favorite ways of fixing out-of-focus photos is to apply an artistic filter to it and then "paint" the photo onto the page. Original photo: Layout:
"Do not Throw : we are blurred but we are happy !" These photos are blurred, I have not tryed to improving it because I made it the subject of my LO ! I just resized it.
Woo hoo! My first MOC page! It takes me a while... I took these photos with my phone and the quality is horrible. I wasn't going to scrap them until this challenge came along...
Most of these photos were too dark, some blurry... I did a bit of editing to lighten things but they still aren't great - but that's ok
The top two photos were imperfectly framed and the bottom photo had Redbud out of focus. I used them as is. The top two were cropped square to compensate for the bad in camera composition and the bottom one gives a sense of motion as she took off as the ball was being thrown.
This photo was a bit dark with a pink tint due to a pink curtain, so I changed it to B&W, adjusted the brightness and contrast and added some blur around Paisley.
OK, having been a photographer before a scrapper I can be a bit of a Photo-snob, but I am learning to embrace it and use my Phone photos more, because I just can't lug my nice camera around with the little one along. So here is one using phone photos - and the boys BOTH have their eyes closed in the left picture, but I left it as is sized and turned it black and white and You really can't tell anymore. here is the original photo and my LO
I chose this photo partly because of the subject matter (haha) and partly because before I ran some actions on the photo, it was poorly lit, and my nephew's skin was pretty blotchy. I also did a close crop to cut out the messy background.
