thank you for another challenge! Is was a real challenge, because I didn't like the outcome at first.
I couldn't work out step 7, so I skipped 7 & 8 -- instead using a mask and a built-in blending mode (Overlay) -- and picked it back up from step 9 to the end.
I am sorry you had some issues with the reverse mask and painting portion. Just curious which software do you use? Just for future reference any questions, always feel free to PM me (or the host) or post a question in the thread. We never want anyone to have problems, and we are always willing to help as there are many ways to achieve the same thing .. cute page!!
Thank you so much! It just isn't a technique that I'm interested in, so I didn't put as much effort into it as I maybe should have. I did want to try it though, because it is always good to play and even if I don't use this particular technique again, I may learn a trick or two that will help me elsewhere. I appreciate how you kept the requirements simple so that my focus could be on the technique itself and I am happy with how my page turned out. In this case, I was stuck on the part with the brushes; I couldn't figure out how to select and use them effectively in PSE 15. I'm sure there are brush tutorials around the forums here, but I didn't take any time to track them down.
Gotcha.. re the brushes in PSE 15 if you want to rotate them, you have to manually change the angle. Check some of the tutorials we have in the learning pad. They will help you in the future
my blend might be a bit harder to see, because I played with artsy stuff too, but the branches blend into the scribbles on the right
Thanks for the challenge Christa! I've loved this "painty" technique of yours for awhile! 20180625CrystalLake1 by klee73010 posted Jan 21, 2019 at 2:14 PM
