This was more fun than I thought it would be, especially when I started playing with the blending modes as well. I couldn't make up my mind which version I liked best, so ...
Q? Can you use the original photo on the layout as well? Can you have more than one photo on the layout?
I haven't spent a lot of time on this, but here is me playing in Artisan this morning: Maybe this will help someone? Here are two pages I did Artisan for this challenge: MOC2019-Day26B by AlannaH posted Jan 26, 2019 at 11:20 AM MOC2019-Day26 by AlannaH posted Jan 26, 2019 at 10:45 AM
Thanks for such a fun challenge, I loved fiddling with all the colours. I imagined my son brought his own album out, and designed a cover for it!
Yes. As long as you have one duotone converted photo on the page, you may have additional photos that do not use the technique.
1-26-19 DuoTone Technique I chose red/yellow (gold) for my duotone and used a photo of the Kansas City Skyline my daughter took back in 2016. I chose the colors to honor the KC Chiefs...I included the original photo as well. Thanks for the awesome tutorial...have never seen this technique. Used Pink and Green for my gradient. Credits in Gallery
This is an amazing challenge, and doing it in my program PS CS- gave me the option to change the duotone whilst creating page. I also lovedhaving the Gradient Map level for placing elements under also, so match with the tones I chose.
Fun challenge. I saw it last night before I went to bed and figured that I'd do a high-contrast graphic style. I had 2 or 3 photos I in mind and played with the technique a bit before falling asleep. Then when I woke up this a.m. my layout had a mind of its own, and this is what I came up with instead.
I used a cream & a slate blue. I did have it more vibrant until I picked my kit & saw it was perfect if I desaturated a bit!
Well I didn't find that I had quite as many choices in my older CS2 but this is what I managed. The purple and putrid yellow-green remind me of how I feel BEFORE coffee so I made this playful and humorous take on that with a photo of my husband and his coffee cup.
