@easyeyes4you Hi Yourself! Been here since the announcement that Moc would begin soon, but not chatting a whole lot. Other things going on.
WOW! What an incredible challenge - the Polly gallery is so inspiring! I decided to try art journaling, so I lifted Anne of Alamo's amazing creative layout - And I used the beautiful Dawn Inskip Freedom Collection to make this layout -
SO many great options, I think I've found several more pages I might use for inspiration later! I chose Iowan's page to lift: And here's my take:
I LOVE this page by Ellen T, and I wish I could scrap like this... let's see how I do. It was on the first page in the gallery, and I paged through, trying to avoid a "hard one", but I keep wanting to look at this one...and that's what MOC is about, right? Pushing one's envelope? Ellen T's masterpiece: ...and my version-close, but no cigar?
Fun challenge! I've never done this before and the more I scrap this Month of Challenges, the more comfortable I'm getting in making my own pages (not using a template.) I've also been finding time to teach myself techniques - as the page I scrap lifted required that I learn how to blend my photo with my background. This is the page I scrap lifted: And here is my take:
I chose a layout from MrsPeel to scraplift. I look at your gallery for ideas quite often and I am never disappointed!! We seem to have a similar fondness for blending large photos into our pages!! Thanks for the inspiration. I went a little bit more sinister with my take on your layout but I think I stayed true to the overall layout of the layout.
So, this turned out to be a pretty loose "scraplift, but I love my result so much. My elongated photo was "portrait" instead of landscape, but I worked in the scatter, paint, replaced the snowflakes with stars and the string mess with ribbon. I loved the custom title on "Joy Filled", done with 3 different fonts. I did the same thing - even using one of the same fonts. I kept the music notes in the background too.
