My granddaughters loved the movie Trolls and the song "True Colors." It brought back lots of memories of when my daughter was young and danced around to the same song (Cyndi Lauper version) back in the 80's.
I went with "Pure Imagination" from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I have loved that movie and this song since I was a child, and I love the message that you can do anything you want, and paradise is right where you are. I also wanted to do a page totally outside of my comfort zone for this one.
This has been my hardest challenge so far, though I love the idea. I just didn't have an idea which of the many fabulous lyrics out there that have touched me I wanted to scrap. Finally, I went with my current music obsession, Pentatonix, spent some time this evening listening and copying my favorite lyrics from a bunch of their songs.

My first layout for MOC and I have no plans on trying to catch up - will just do the ones I have time for. My song choice is Jesus by Chris Tomlin. I have a link to the song in the gallery if you want to hear the song. It has become a favourite of mine and it was played on the Vision Radio Online station I listened to this morning.
The song that resonates the most with me at the moment is Landslide by Stevie Nicks. This year I turn 50 and recently I have spent time reflecting on the future and what it means to be at point in my life. I don't think I am struggling with getting older but this song strikes at the core of my feelings about turning 50. I can't tell you if I like the Stevie Nicks version better than the Dixie Chicks version as they are both beautiful! The LO reflects the lyrics about the child within my heart and the seasons of my life. Thanks for a beautiful challenge Erin
This is usually one challenge that I dread but this year it was good for me. Cole Swindell "You Should Be Here." My dad and my oldest son when he was little, and now the the things I wish my dad was here to see. He was only 51 when he died of cancer. This song makes me cry every. single. time.
Here is my page. We used to sing this song while we were on the road this summer. Simple but straight forward explanation. It is now linked to that vacation.
I had so many songs come to mind for this one! I chose "I Believe in Love" by the Dixie Chicks because it was the music for our wedding video. Great challenge!
MOC 21 Strong Lyric I totally love Richard Marx's song "Beautiful Goodbye". It doesn't apply to my life, but, as I drove home yesterday, I realized that part of the chorus would make a great statement for the title page of my 2017 scrapbook: Nothing lasts forever...nothing. Nothing lasts forever...nothing. Everything is meant to be a memory. And I promise I will leave you with a Beautiful Goodbye. -Richard Marx PS: You can listen to the song here:
here is the translation of the lyric: https://people.ucsc.edu/~zurbrigg/psy140p/Kettcar lyrics.pdf First of all I love this song because kettcar knows how to play with words and that's something that is really important to me when I listen to music that touches my heart. Second it explains so well what I'm feeling when I get up and just watch my boyfriend sleep. It is one of the most simple things, but yet it is everything to me. Lastly I always smile when I hear the lines "My world set aside and I Could explain the world in three words If I had to"
