Hello Everyone! Happy 1/3rd of the way through MOC7! Wooo Hooo! I hope you are having a blast, learning new things, and scrapping ALL THE THINGS! Today, we are going to be focusing on a bit of fun for your Alphas! Alphas are mainly used for titles, though today we are not going to be using them solely in that manner today! We are going to try something different! Here are the challenge requirements: 1. Your layout must include Alphas in a solid, filled, shaped design on at least 1/4 of your page. 2. You should use at least 3 different alphas to make your shape. Please advise your chosen shape and credit the alphas when posting your layout. Additonal Information and Clarification: A solid/filled shaped design could be a square, star, circle, heart, diamond, wave, or in the shape of a letter. You are not limited to these shapes alone; these are examples. Painted Alphas are allowed as one of your alphas, fonts with styles and recoloring of alphas are not. Here is my page and the products I used are listed below. My shape is actually a square, but the visible area is a solid rectangle of letters. I used 4 different Alpha for the challenge. Hoping you guys have fun with the challenge! It stumped me at first, but I just love how my page turned out! Have fun! Please remember: Your page must be a new page in order to count for the Month of Challenges. Your page must be posted in three places: Uploaded to the TLP Gallery (not an outside hosting site). Posted in your page thread you created in the MOC Layouts Folder. You should have one post per completed challenge page. If you complete all 31 challenges, your thread should contain 31 posts. Please do not comment in the participants’ page threads so we can keep them clean. Posted in this thread. People can comment here if they wish. Pages must contain at least 75% current Lilypad product (currently for sale in the store from either permanent designers or guest designers).
First post reserved for questions and clarifications. Based on questions asked by other members.... You CAN recolor your Alphas, as long as you are not recoloring the same alpha over and over to make your 3 Alphas. You CAN overlap the alphas in your shape. Numbers can be used as well as the letters. They are usually sold in the alpha pack. Your letters need to make a FILLED, SOLID shape. The letter need to BE and MAKE the shape. There are some Freebie Alphas are in the Free Products section of the store if you need one or two. https://the-lilypad.com/store/Free-Products/

oooo, add another post when you come back! I wouldn't want to miss seeing and leaving love on your layout!
I'm not much of an alpha-user, so this was an excellent challenge for me. Turns out I had fun combining all the (SIX) alphas, then unifying by colorizing them. The "S" is filled with the phrase: "White-Nuckle-Drive," the S, of course, illustrating all the S-curves of the Beartooth.
I think I almost died, lol. My 'shape' is the rectangle bottom half of the page. Fonts aren't allowed. This is noted right under the challenge rules. Though, there are 2 free alphas in the store, if you need a couple. Let me know if you have any more questions, Maureen!
