Happy Holiday Crafting! I have a simple and fun project to share with you - seasonal shadow boxes. I love using seasonal decor and personalizing it with my digital scrapbooking supplies. This is what I created with a few inexpensive finds at my local stores, and added word art that was cut out on vinyl. Here are the supplies I used and how I created these shadow boxes: 1 - The boxes were in the dollar section of my local Target store ($5 each). The back panels slide out so they can be filled from behind. 2 - I used a variety of items to fill the shadow boxes: miniature pinecones, artificial pine branches, floral berry stems, glittered ornaments, a strand of miniature LED lights and snow flurries. All of these items were in the seasonal floral section of my local Michael's craft store. They were all on sale and I still have a lot left over that I can use for other projects! 3 - I placed the string lights in the box first, using clear tape to secure it to the inside perimeter of the shadow box and then filled the boxes with the floral supplies and wrapped some of the string lights around the floral supplies so that it filled the box. I left some of the string lights cord and the battery/power switch box outside the box so I can easily turn the lights on and off. The back panel of the shadow box easily closes without damaging the cord. 3 - The word art is from Paislee Press, December You are my Fav No. 7 and December you are my Fav No. 10. I cut the word art out on my electronic cutting machine (I used a Cricut Maker) on metallic gold vinyl. I then adhered it to the plastic on the front of the shadow box. *Tip - these are thin lined word arts and I needed to use the strong grip transfer tape to place it on the boxes. I initially used regular grip transfer tape and the vinyl just would not stick to the transfer tape. Use care when removing the strong grip transfer tape so you do not tear the vinyl word art. *If you do not have an electronic cutting machine, you could print your word art on vellum or transparency film and cut the vellum or transparency film to the size of your shadow box. Then place the vellum or film inside the shadow box, either next to the box's clear cover or at the back of the box. The possibilities are endless for the different looks you can create with shadow boxes and digital word art! These are stunning, just beautiful! I love the metallic gold words, and all the greenery, and the lights.
