where are you?? Two weeks to get the rest of my feb challenges done. I’ve done the template one and won’t be doing the BYOC challenge so need to do all the rest for the discount to be worth it - anything less than 30% doesn’t cover the difference in exchange. Soooo......how do you stay motivated to scrap the challenges after such a big scrappy effort as MOC?
I still aim to do a page a day. Just pick a challenge - even the photography one to highlight something that you take delight in and then scrap a page about that. Peruse the gallery for inspiration - there really is so much in there.
Sometimes I get inspired by the kit itself. I have two main folders for my TLP stash: "used" and "not used". I go through the stuff I haven't used, find something that would be cool on page, like a doll by LBW or Rebecca, then search for a photo that matches, and if I don't have any photos, I use a quote or a saying as my focal point (English isn't my native language, so I use google a lot, i.e. "happiness quote", then Images, to view them easily).
Mine is probably not a helpful answer, Jennifer, but I just always want to scrap. The challenges are great page launchers for me. I don’t do them for the coupon. A lot of months my old brain forgets I have a coupon and never use it...LOL.
I'm like Margaret @londoncuppa , I just always want to scrap! But unlike Margaret, I use all TLP coupons because my budget is slim. I use them immediately to make sure I don't forget. I have some suggestions for inspiration. Scrolling through my picture files ALWAYS makes me want to scrap. Also looking through old scrapbooks, reading my journal or looking through my calendar, and reading on Facebook have all inspired many pages for me. I know some people think they don't have much going on their lives. But we always have thoughts about what's going on in the world around us. Want pictures for current events? Google Images!
I go through the gallery and find a page that inspires me- either the way it is layed out, the colors, or whatever. Eventually I find something. Another way is to go shopping- I can never wait to download the new items and used them!
I too just love to scrap, but doing one challenge a day will get you caught up before the 28th of Feb @littlekiwi .. just let things flow you were doing well with the MOC.. used that same momentum for the February challenges
What do you start with? A story? A photo? Or do you see a cool layout that you want to scraplift? I start with photos and/or story. So, I'll browse my story journal, or flip through Lightroom and my photos. I start with the 3 stars which are the "must scrap" ones. Usually, I don't make it far until I feel sparked to scrap! If that doesn't work, I'll pick a scrapper I love and look through their gallery to scraplift. That might be a good starting place for the challenges? The scraplift one? And I'm taking Tangie's class to learn a new skill too!
I try to do the challenges along with my CT duties- 2 birds, 1 stone sorta thing- but if you're not on any creative teams- that's not very helpful for you. Sorry! I agree with the poster above who said to look through older photos- that always gets me going as I feel accomplished getting an older layout done, but also get some juices flowin' too!
@bestcee to be honest any of the three can spark an idea. I might start with scraplift since I’ve already picked the layout.
