I didn't think my journaling from 1994 would count so I just used it like an image and then wrote some more this evening, elaborating on what I'd written so long ago.

    Here's tonight's journaling:
I don’t remember where my parents went -- probably Las Vegas -- but I had the house nearly to myself. My brother must have been there too. I was in the second of three semesters of my teacher credential program and Robert and I were making frequent commutes between his bachelor pad in Studio City and my house in Lemon Grove. The “SS game” must have been a social studies game I made for a class or student teaching. I wish I’d happened to photograph us this day on the Embarcadero, but unlike most long ago memories, I can actually still envision us sitting on the green grassy hill, relaxing and talking. And I can kind of remember us lying on my bed with the trundle pulled up to make it full sized. I think I had been sharing something from a magazine. The thing I had about 4 seasons is from when I had my first breakup, after a summer romance. I wrote in my journal soon after the breakup that I would want to spend 4 seasons with a man before considering anything serious. So much for that idea. But it felt unimportant. It’s hard to explain how I knew this was right, especially because Robert and I had only known each other for barely 4 months, but I knew. And we have had a very good relationship for 23 years now so I’m even more confident in that feeling. Intuition? Whatever it was. We had been talking hypothetially a lot. As if we knew even earlier than this, but our logical brains didn’t allow us to go there . . . until October 22.

The date almost caught me, because I couldn't fit the year on the tag! (July 4, 2016) So it comes at the very end of the journaling. 154 words by the word counter! Text is with layout in gallery.

    Here's mine, and the journaling!

On this day 34 years ago I became a mom. Tori's birthday always brings forward memories of that time before she entered the world. I was twenty years old and so ready to have a baby. Ralph and I were in Germany, independent and acting like grownups, but I still felt like a kid. We were far too far away from home, but we were excited. And you took FOREVER to be ready to come into the world! I'd been walking and walking, past your due date, hoping to move you along, and never thought this pregnancy would end! On this day once I realized I was in labor I was happy I was finally going to meet you! Ralph got up once I told him, and things were speeding up a bit. Your dad took me to the dispensary on post (Wildflecken wasn't big enough for anything resembling a hospital) and they immediately put us into an ambulance and sped toward Wurzburg. Every time I had a contraction the nurse would tell the driver to speed up and use the lights and siren, so we were cruising along the Autobahn! The ironic thing is that once we got to the hospital again we had to wait and wait and wait. My contractions took forever to speed up enough to do anything; we were a bit worried they might send us home! Finally though, they wheeled me into a delivery room and not too much after that there you were. I toughed it out not wanting any meds at all, but I sure felt it when the were stitching me up after, and got a little numbing agent to help. You were so tiny and so amazing! and I was so very tired I saw two of your dad. You just blew me away with your teensy little fingers and toes. You made my heart swell as you made me a mom. I am so proud of you my darling daughter, and want all the most wonderful things in the world for you.

Finally catching up! It took me awhile to figure out what significant personal day I wanted to pick. This came up during a conversation with friends when snowbound out of town this weekend, so it came together quickly today. Here is my page - 319 words.

    And here's the journaling:

For Tom’s 5oth birthday we planned a family vacation to Disney World in Orlando. Tom’s entire family made the trip with us. His sister Debbi secured timeshares for all of us. Once we all arrived at the park, we determined we would buy four day passes. On the first day, everyone in the group went to Magic Kingdom. As it was my and the kids first time to Disney, we were totally awed by the park and all there was to do. However, we did find it difficult to continuously try to find everyone in our party and to keep everyone happy with the choices we made. We did end p staying the whole day at the park, which was exhausting.

At the end of the day, the girls, Tom and I felt we still had over half of the kingdom to explore! The family plans for the next day, however, were to visit the Hollywood Studios park. We gathered the girls together and asked them what they most wanted to do - go with all the family to Hollywood Studios OR just go as a family and spend another day at Magic Kingdom. The girls chose Magic Kingdom, resulting in us having a family day all to ourselves. That day? January 3, 2012.

We began the day early again, this time taking the time to get family photographs at both the start and the end of the day. We rode the train in to the park, and as it was early, we got immediately onto Splash Mountain. From there we rode roller coasters, explored Tom Sawyer’s island, imagined we were the Swiss Family Robinson, acted like pirates, and flew in to space. It was a truly magical, family day.

At the end, we saw the fireworks show again and left the park completely satisfied and happy. It was truly a magical day and one I will remember forever.
