Yes its really me. And I noticed your absence on FB. I look forward to bumping into you here Sending those BIG BIG hugs back at you. ♥ Sleep time for me, or I wont function at work tomorrow lol.
@littlekiwi - I see more layout posts from you. Looks like you are close to being caught up! I knew you could do it.
7 down, 5 to go at the moment - trying to limit myself to 2 hours a layout to get them caught up. I think I should be pretty well caught up by the end of this weekend I'm hoping
@littlekiwi way to go on getting some pages done! I just kind of go with the flow, some nights I just stare at PS and others my pages just come together and I can create 3 or 4 that I am really happy with. I got a little behind this week as Christmas vacation is over and I was back at work, got behind by three. I do what others have said they do, I read the challenge in the morning and think about how I want to approach it, decide on photos (which sometimes change).
I work T-F so by the time I get home, cook, clean, take care of kiddos/put to bed, & get ready for the next day, I don't always have the energy to scrap a page. I catch up on the weekends + make folders on my hard drive with each day's challenge. I will pick my photos/kit or write my journaling while I'm at work on a break so I don't have to make any decisions when I finally have time -- I just can hammer out that page.
I'm a slower scrapper as well, but the very simple pages do seem to come together a little bit quicker for me. I try and start in the morning as I'm eating breakfast or drinking my coffee, but there are times I'm just not able to get anything done. Last weekend we started running errands and then made a spur of the moment up North, and then Sunday I got really hung up on the dispersion technique and trying my hardest to get 20+ matching photos to work, before finally using just a single one that I pretty much wasted the whole day and got one layout done. Thursday I wasn't able to get on an play so I ended up doing yesterday. I think it can be easier said than done at times because life always has a way of happening.
This is very true! Um, my goal to scrap every night? DH worked late 3 of them, I ended up swapping kids for one of them, and had no desire to scrap one of them. So, I need to buckle down and catch up!
I haven't started yer because I am having treatment, my idea was to not scrap until March...but having seen the p[ages, the awesome challenges..not sure I will be able to resist!!!!! What I did in previous years, started one by one, but if there was a challenge I thought would take me longer, I would leave it for later and make the easier ones....then catch up with the ones tha`t I left for later. Something that takes me AGES is to find the perfect photo/s... so is an idea to have some photos (or ideas for pages you want to make) selected so I don't take too long choosing .....
I have hit a brick wall it seems, nothing I’m doing is flowing - tried several challenges, have new supplies etc. I’ve tried the blind scrap, 20 photos and filled template plus i’ve still got throwback photo, people-less and change your view
Let's go! Start with the blind scrap. What photo are you using and what kit? Look through the thread and maybe it'll inspire you?
I actually don’t know, I just keep trying different things til I get something I like - The newest full kit I have is Storyteller Jan 2018 so that would be a logical starting point. I’m usually a mix and match scrapbooker.
I hate that wall! I hope you can push past it soon. Even though it sounds like you aren't happy with the pages you tried tonight, are any far enough along that you can post them as MOC layouts and just save them to fix later?
Nope! Cause they all didn’t make it past about 50% completion. I know the longer I let the challenges pile up, the more likely I am to give up. I’m trying to get it so I can do 2 layouts a day basically so I don’t get too overwhelmed I was changing a template to add more photos for the 20 photo challenge but as soon as I did that I lost what drew me to the template in the first place https://the-lilypad.com/store/Storyteller-2016-March-Template-Pack.html
Maybe don't change a template? I know I looked at a bunch of the templates, including the examples. And ended up just making 2x2 squares on my 20 photo page. What if you used that template with people less? Then you can scrap with what drew you, and complete a different challenge? You could always fill extra photo holes with papers and sayings?
I think thats what I'll probably end up doing for that challenge even though I wanted to be super creative with it - it may just end up being simple equals done kind of layout
Eeek it may be almost 2 in the morning but im caught up ... also the tablets i started today i was warned would keep me awake ... kinda glad the challenge for the 14th isnt up yet so i can say im caught up
