How long can you go without being online before you go through withdrawal? Or do you find that the longer you are away, the less you care? What is your optimal unplug time? Or do you feel that you don't need any time unplugged?

This past weekend, it was sort of beyond my control, but I ended up being offline for most of Saturday, all of Sunday & Monday, and most of today. It was so weird. At first, I was freaking out, but then by today, I felt like I was going to be overwhelmed going back online and catching up. :badputer

So how do you handle your online time?

I feel like I'm going to explode after just an hour or two, then it calms down when I get occupied with other things. .. then I'm good for a day or two.

Depends on if it's planned or unplanned. When the internet goes out I go crazy checking everything that might be wrong. But days at the lake I love it. Although the dang Iphone will connect in certain spots so then I'm tempted to check in on things.

I'm more in line with Carilyne. When we are on vacation, I can go 14 days and not give a hoot. If you count phone, I probably check once a day even on vacation, in case the kids txt or call.
In daily life, I work online so if Cable internet is out, I use my phone as a hot spot. Basically in daily mode I'm on Internet unless I'm sleeping..... Lol.

I am definitely better than I used to be. We went on a backpacking trip in September and had no power for a week, let alone internet and I didn't even miss it. My email was crazy out of control by the time we got back to the land of LTE again. I definitely check in more often when I'm bored or looking for something to fill a short amount of time, but I don't think I get withdrawals like I used to when I first started digiscrapping.

I love getting away from the computer when it is for doing something productive or even moving to the living room to watch tv... I know that isn't quiet "unplugged" but for me going to the livi9ng room means either we are cooking, or Sarita is, and we are watching something together which has always been a bit of a ritual for us......

Love it when I am well enough to get up, drive, go have dinner somewhere or even grocery shopping these days for me is an achievement....so, yes, I love it for a few hours, but when my computer starts playing up ...I have to admit I do kind of freak a bit....
so in not so many words.... love it when I know I can go back to it whenever I want, so that means up to a day or two...unless I am traveling which means I am home with the family and all things electrical are forgotten :)

I'm a web designer so between that and digi scrapping I'm online ALL the time... which is probably taking its toll on my eyes and brain already... so I actually make a point to go for a 1.5 hour walk every single day just to get out - and I usually reserve Saturdays for being off the computer.

I suppose it's nice that I still have my paper scrapbooking stash... that gets me off the computer too. :)

I would go NUTS if I didn't take my walks every day...

I find that the longer I'm away, the less I want to go back. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to go completely off grid. Of course, that thought never lasts long. LOL ;)

I unplug every time I go out of the house. I decided not to have data for my cell phone plan just so I don't have any choice but to be unplugged. I like it that way, I want to enjoy it when I'm out. At home it there's a power outage like in a blizzard or something then I try to find other things to do like read but I do go online as soon as power is back.

I check facebook and play a game or two just about every day. Apart from that I can go for a few days.

I'm not sure I can manage being unplugged for long but I am going to have to go cold turkey when we head off on our cruise as there is NO WAY I am paying those internet prices haha

I love being unplugged when I have no other choice, I'm not good at all with unplugging myself.

Summer 2014 we spent a few days in Yellowstone with no cell service and we embraced it and had a lot of fun without our devices. And we did it again this summer when we spent a couple of days in Canada and didn't spring for the extra data plan. It always goes much better than expected and we don't seem to miss the constant connection, but we sure have a hard time doing it when it's a choice vs. necessity.

I am with the on vacation or camping I am just fine not being online. I will still use my phone to look up what kind of bug we saw, or check in by text with someone (often it is just me and my 8 year old son out on an adventure) but as far as the chatting, scrapping, pinning, getting lost in YouTube land - that stuff I don't miss. LOL!

I love to unplug on vacation. And I will absolutely unplug during big family gatherings like Christmas. But at home, on a regular day, I need my internet. However I don't usually carry my phone around at work. Most of the times, I get to school at 8 in the morning, put all my stuff in my locker and woulnd't get it out until like 4. I reckon if it's important, they'll call the school. Of course I do have a connection to the internet then, but that's work. If it's down, I go crazy. You have no idea how much you depend on a working connection until it's down.

I like to be unplugged! In fact, that's a lot of the reason I'm not as active in the forums here as I used to be. I made a choice to intentionally scale down my computer / screen time a while back, and I feel so much more productive for it. Stuff gets done, and I get to the end of my day no longer wondering what I did with my time. It's great! If I don't have set goals in mind, though, I find myself very easily migrating back to the computer. Idle time = screen time for me.
