Does anyone here do "zentangle" drawings? I am working on one that is turning out to be AWESOME for a pocket letter I'm sending out. But I am really curious to know if anyone puts these into their art journals (physical or digital). I'd love to see some if you do....

I don't... but I want to at some point. It is on my neverending list of to-dos

I love to zentangle, but don't include them in layouts or art journaling. They are just in my sketchbook and/or framed.

I started out just doing the typical zentangle, but then started zentangling inside shapes, like animals and objects.

Oh, WOW!!! I'm clearly a beginner. Lol. Those are awesome. I bought my first official sketchbook not too long ago, and plan to spend my camping trip next weekend starting to draw in it. I have one "memo pad" I started with in May I think that's not full yet. I've found I really really like doing the "artistic quote doodling"....

I also just bought some books from goodwill that I plan to make my official art journals and really start to play in mixed media. New adventure for me....

Pffft, everyone has to start somewhere! That first one with the watercolor was my first one. One shape filled with one shape. LOL Just keep going and before you know it you'll be filling every blank space you can find with a tangle!

Have you visited this site, for patterns? http://tanglepatterns.com/

Oh, and those are heavily inspired/copied from images from Google. But it really gave me a good feel for repeating patterns, filling in spaces, etc.

I just found that site last week. I also have two apps on my phone that gives me step by step on patterns, and I've pinned several new ones to try.

I think I should just take pics going forward... lol I've been doing them small scale thus far. Working on my first big one currently. Can't wait to take a pic of it...

I really love that middle one in blue, with the swirls on the edges and the depth in the middle! My next challenge to myself is to try to work some more shadowing and depth into my tangles.

And don't you find that you're incredibly relaxed when you're done? I just get lost, meditating.

Wowzers... girls they look awesome! I've done a few over the years, but didn't keep them as they were just doodles on bits of paper, but I do feel inspired!

one thing I've hated is that it takes forever. ... at the same time, it forces me to slow down.... good and bad. Haha.

When I had surgery on my foot in February I did a bunch of doodling/tangling. Mostly I just copied or was heavily inspired by stuff I saw in books or online, but it is super fun! I also had a wonderful time shopping for new pens and markers. :giggle

Yesssssssss! !! I've already done that. So far, I've picked up a pack of microns, a pack of faber-castell pens I saw on a clearance rack, and a pack of the pilot g2 gel ink pens (for color)... then went and got a couple sharpie markers in different sizes (in hot pink :giggle)

I have these two LOs I've made from another store... (My CT work), but I really have so much more to say on the subject, and I am truly excited to get these into a physical art journal over the next few months.

I did this for awhile. It certainly is relaxing. I traded tangle ATCs even for awhile. You ladies are really good at it!
