I used the perspective of the trees, looking up at them, as my inspiration. I took this photo at the pool, laying on the ground under my son. I wanted to capture the clouds above him in the photo.
I used the colours from the art piece to form the foundation of my page: blues, browns, and a lot of shades of yellow and orange.
Awesome challenge Rachel! I just love to see all the different takes! SO much creativity going on here!!! Here's my page. I was inspired by [the bark of] the trees and the shape of the 2 tree crowns plus their places in the design; the one a little below the more prominent one.
Gorgeous layouts so far. I was intrigued by the filter on the inspiration piece. I spent this morning trying out a bunch and thought the palette knife gave a nice look to my fall photo. Fun challenge. Here's mine:
The tree in the painting brought to mind instantly a tree I photographed a couple of years ago for a photography class. It was in an old, pioneer cemetery. The tree has grown so large that an old grave marker is hard to find and impossible to read. I'm sure the relatives thought it was so sweet to bury their loved one on top of a hill and under a tree; now it is nearly gone, swallowed up by that very tree.
This one was a little tougher for me. Wasn't sure which way to go with it so I just combined the painterly effect and the trees and one of my favorite subjects!
What a gorgeous painting! The colors reminded me of a photo I took this fall; I blended it with a wood background and some splatters to give it a "painted" feel.
It was so nice to make use of the watercolor technique Farah explained us on the blog here... I was inspired by the tree, the colors and the painting mode
