If you could remodel any room in your house right now, which one and why?

My kitchen BADLY needs it, but at this point I would choose the finished basements. It is in shambles from a flood 2 years ago, and worse shambles from me starting to work on it just before I got mono. I wish I never even had to go down there it's so ugly and stressful. :thumbsdowns

Would have to be my downstairs living room. It's the room we spend the most time in and I'd love to have tile floors instead of carpet. I need new curtains in here and I want to change the "theme" to bring in some brighter colors that make the room pop. And lastly, I want to paint the walls...color, who knows? I'd have to decide after I picked my "popping color" :giggle

The basement... because it's unfinished. We've only been in our house for a touch over a year (we built it), so other than painting, I don't need to remodel anything just yet. But the basement... yeah, I'd like for that to be finished. Not sure why we chose to skip it when we were going through the building process.

Hmm, my kitchen is almost done. I need some shelves and a backsplash, hopefully in the late fall I will attempt to tile, lol.

I would have to say my living room, it needs a new paint job and sone spicing up. My basement isn't really used other than laundry, storage and a place to keep stinky hockey equipment.

Probably our kitchen, not because it needs it but because I just want new counters and appliances. If I had unlimited funds, I'd do a complete gut and rearrange things too

My master bathroom because the cabinets are PINK... and yes, so are the counters. It's also the only room that hasn't been painted here because of the garden tub that I don't use but still makes it to where I'd have to set up scaffolds to paint in there. So it's still faded white and I SO don't do white walls.

You're all so considerate of your families, but ... as soon as I read the OP I knew what I'd want! We have an awesome brick built, waterproof shed. I would like to put a window in, and some plug points and then make it into the coolest craft cave ever :D

Basement, definitely. We have a weird house, we actually have 2 basements. Our first basement is finished (Our master bedroom, master bath, and pantry) but our lower basement is not. It has the laundry room (also unfinished) and I'd love that to be finished off nicely as well.

We had sort of finished the basement into a family room and then we had massive flooding in June and had to tear the carpet up and we'll need to redo that and the sheetrock that was damaged. We used that room all the time and it sucks to be without it now.

well we built a custom house two years ago....so i really don't need to redo anything, and pretty much every room is perfect. but I am still sewing curtains...i haven't been very diligent about working on them, but I am really ramping it up to finish that project...and once i get those finished i am going to work on making my studio fun; I have a space over our garage for my photography stuff, and that is where i am sewing now because i can leave everything out and have good floor space for measuring/cutting the drapes. but i would love to move my computer up there and really make it an all-around craft area sometime. But that is AFTER I finish the main house. :)

we are going back and forth to enclosing our back patio. It is so airy and fresh now (but too cold in the winter). We actually use it as a dining room. Think we are going to just hang plexiglass windows over the screens for the winter and go ghetolicious! Which is actually a step up from the plastic we stapled and wrapped around last year!

I live in a townhouse, so my outside space is like 15' and 12 of it is a deck.....I would love a small yard and have a fish pond. That is the only thing I miss from my old house, my backyard :(

I would do either my kitchen or bathroom. Both are in desperate need of updating!

My me it would be my master bathroom. We have one of those huge jacuzzi tubs that nobody ever uses except for the kids once in a great while. Then we have a small stand up shower and only one sink on a tiny counter top. I would remove the big tub, add and big stand up shower in it's place and then have room for a longer counter possibly with two sinks. I enter a contest to win a $50,000 bathroom or laundry room makeover from Lowes though, so this should be happening anytime for me. (I wish!)

My kitchen. We've been talking about what upgrades to do before we sell it over the next few yrs and one of the things we want to do is put in new countertops and flooring. My hubs is focusing on the outside first though. This month he is painting the house (grey with a light blue tone with lighter trim) and having a new garage door installed.

me too! Not sure when it was last done but i'm guessing 70's front the avocado green tile. :) we make it work with all white accessories but it's pretty ugly - and no storage.

My bedroom. I really have an itch to redo all of the decor and paint. I've had the same curtains for over 11 years, so I think it's time for something new.
