So I've made a few quilts, nothing major... Easy rag quilts, and a chevron one using batiks. So I went searching on Etsy and found this adorable quilt pattern. Here's the link: https://www.etsy.com/listing/100457...86686&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery I went to Joann's yesterday and attempted to buy a charm Pack (which they had NONE that I liked) along with the other necessary fabric and supplies, but left empty handed. I adore the charm pack used in the actual pattern but it's no longer being sold. Can anyone point me to some good websites that sell charm packs in fabrics like the one shown? Also, I'm going to need fabric sold by the yardage to also complete this quilt. Thanks so much if anyone can help!
There is a seller on etsy who has that charm pack listed - search Lucy's crab shack fabric - and I see some yardage there too (maybe not same seller) - I have had very good luck with a few different sellers for fabric on etsy and you can find some great deals on large "scrap pack" boxes. I love that pattern!!
P.s. - my quilts live in the land of not-quite-finished projects - it's a pretty big land, maybe one day I will be queen!
Isn't it, Angie?! I'm spending lots of mullah on Etsy though, trying to get these discontinued fabrics.
That is super cute Brandi! I've made a couple of quilts but I don't really love it. The ones I like best are the hand appliqued kind and of course those take the longest to make. If that is an applique quilt, the circles won't be too hard. I'm not sure how you would even do a circle without applique, but like I said, I'm no pro! I hope you find all the fabrics that you need! I can't wait to see pictures if you do end up makign it too! Don't visit Danielle's land of un-finished projects. (I think we might be neighbors Danielle!)
If this quilt ends up big I'll probably send it off to get quilted. I COULD do it on my machine but not sure I want to. They have lots of classes/tuts on quilting on your own machine rather than sending it off. I found some of the fabric in yardage and the charm pack on Etsy, so it's all on order So excited to get it!
I like fabric.com, fabricworm.com, and missouriquiltco.com Have you tried a die cutting machine? I have the sizzix one for quilting and they may have dies that make that shape which would make things go faster and easier.
Amanda!! I didn't think of that! I have a silhouette machine! I guess I would need to get the blade for cutting fabric!! GENIUS!!!
The fabric and paper blades are the same, from what I've been told. But they make them with different color barrels because the paper dulls the blade so you don't want to go back and forth between materials. But if you have a spare paper replacement blade you can just use that one for fabric.
I totally thought you were hand quilting this! I know how to do both hand quilting and piecing quilts on my machine. Currently they are put aside in the "someday" pile. I'm impressed you are doing the circles. Just looking at them make me want to cry and say a few cuss words. PLEASE post a finished picture when you get this done. I would love to see it!
I quilt! I actually have a Lucy Crab Shack charm pack sitting here to make my son's picnic quilt. I used to buy heaps of fabric from the US as it's so much cheaper than here in Australia, but postage has become a killer. My favourite stores are Hawthorne Threads, Fabric Shack (their website is bad but they are awesome!), there's a lot of reliable etsy sellers, fabric.com, the fat quarter shop and pink castle fabrics (I think they're US off the top of my head).
