aw girl, congrats! I kinda picked my own out.. we happened by a jewelry store in the mall and went in to look. I picked a couple that I liked, but the left the final decision up to him. He picked the perfect one that I still absolutely love to this day (we've been married for 12 years this summer. I can't take it off lol because I got the saultered together (the diamonds kept falling out because they were rubbing). Anyway, here they are:
I just did a page on mine... My real ring doesn't fit currently... so I wearing this one until I get my butt in gear and lost 15 lbs!
I have a princess cut (square) diamond in a platinum setting and a yellow gold band. I like the two-tone so I can wear gold or silver with it (since I have so much vintage jewelry). The setting is called a cathedral setting and when I turn my hand, it makes a letter A, my initial.
Congratulations! very exciting news! I have also done a page on mine - here it is - on a golf ball obviously... (my husband proposed on a golf course). It was his grandmother's ring, probably not what I would have chosen but I'm used to it now. His mother was holding it for when he got engaged, but he didn't tell her he was proposing (good thing as she would have spent months trying to talk him out of it, she really didn't like me) but he got the wrong ring - the one he grabbed was one of hers and it was hideous so was quite happy with this one.
First of all, congrats!!! I'm so happy for you. The description of what you like sounds exactly like me. When DH and I decided to get married we went together to pick out the ring (he knew I was picky, lol). I couldn't find anything I loved in the engagement section, but this one caught my eye and I absolutely loved it! It's not a traditional engagement ring, and I don't have a wedding band, just this. I love that it's totally flat so it never gets snagged. Another bonus - the diamonds are so little it was pretty affordable. You can probably tell in the photo, but instead of a big diamond in each square it's 4 small ones, plus three tiny ones in a triangle on each side. It's also platinum, which I assumed would be too expensive, but this was cheaper than any of the engagement rings we looked at.
I don't have one. We were only engaged for 5 minutes. I did have a ring I wore that I picked out, which was gold and cubic zirconia. I knew I wouldn't wear real diamonds because I'm a klutz and an airhead and I'd be too paranoid about losing them or breaking them or whatever. For years my husband kept trying to buy me real diamonds and I always said no. He finally shut up. I lost a bunch of weight, so that ring doesn't fit anymore. The ring I wear now is just a simple gold anniversary band, again with fake diamonds. If one happens to fall out, I won't be too upset. And apparently it was the right choice because a few months after I got it, I fell carrying a bunch of stuff and bent it. Nothing fell out, but it's still bent. lol
We were poor when we got engaged ALL those long years ago (and still aren't that wealthy but who cares!) but I love my itty bitty solitaire diamond ring SO ... because my darling picked it for me, let me try it on, and when I fell in love with it he said we couldn't afford it so I put it back with a sigh and then he went back to the store and put it on lay-by for me and then SURPRISED me with it on my 21st birthday ... he can be a real sweetie when he tries . Congratulations on your engagement Kari!!!
Mine is the traditional solitaire (relatively small) on a slim gold band (and hasn't fit in quite a while ). So happy for you, Kari! Congrats!!
Congrats!! I love my ring!! It's the only jewelry I wear. It's a gradual wide band. Wider at the top where the marquis diamond sits. Mine is gold. White silver and platinum was barely becoming popular when I got engaged. And I like silver. But gold looks better with my skin tones. And again. I love my ring!!
i've lost mine. it just vanished one day, and i truly cannot explain it. just wanted to say congrats!! that's exciting news!
