"Take the leap and build your wings on the way down." I am not a spontaneous person by nature. I am always anxious and worrying. I feel vulnerable and out of control if I haven't had a chance to plan ahead. Before I take a leap, my wings have been built, double-checked for safety and strapped firmly on . . . with a parachute just in case. When Lita included this quote as a word art in our new collab, it really struck me as something that I need to take to heart. There are a lot of things I have planned for 2013 that scare the heck out of me and I am determined not to let my anxieties slow me down. I'm gonna have to just leap and worry about the details after. What about you? Have you chosen a word or theme or goal to inspire your 2013? Do you have an action plan? Take some time this week to journal about your hopes, dreams, resolutions, plans, fears, predictions, whatever for the New Year. "We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives not looking for flaws, but for potential." Ellen Goodman "Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right." Oprah Winfrey "Action may not always bring happiness, but there is no happiness without action." William James "Be the change you wish to see in the world." Gandhi "You are what you do, not what you say you'll do." C.G. Jung Here's a sample from my CT member Edeena, who writes: "I particularly liked this quote. I saw it as a phoenix burning up on the way down, only to rise from the ashes and begin anew." And a page from Miss Litabells herself! In conclusion, I'll leave you with a little humour from Mark Twain "New Year's Day: Now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual." Happy New Year! I wish you all a wonderfully creative 2013! _________________________________ If the theme or a quote or a question or anything about this post inspires you to create something, we'd love for you to share it with us! One thing I vow to do this year is accept me, all of me, for who I am inside and out and learn to love me! LINK
