Since we have so many newcomers (and old timers!) I thought we should do some getting to know each other-ing! Where are you from, and where do you live now? I was born and raised in Royal Oak, Michigan. I moved to the Cleveland area in 2004 and haven't moved since. Other than a 3 month stint in Louisville for school and 4 months in FL until we ran out of money, I haven't gone far.
Born in San Luis Obispo, California Moved to Eastern Washington as a baby, then to Western Washington when I was 6. Moved back to Eastern Washington about 4 1/2 years ago.
When I was younger, I would ask my dad what I was supposed to tell people when they asked me where I was from because I was an Air Force Brat! He said 'Earth'! LOL It would be easier to break it down by years for me: 1965-1968 Bossier City, Louisiana (Born at the base hospital) 1968-1969 Incirlik, Turkey (Dad got stationed there) 1969-1971 Rapid City, South Dakota (Another base assignment) 1971-1972 Lake Charles, LA (Dad went to Vietnam) 1972-1978 Wichita, KS (My formative years....that explains everything! LOL) 1978-1981 Hahn Air Base, Germany (OMG.....I would so go back and do that again!) 1981-1987 Little Rock, Arkansas (Yep, met DH number big, fat ZERO! and had my kids) 1987-1989 Comiso, Sicily (The ex got stationed there) 1989-Present Little Rock, Arkansas (Divorced the ZERO and found my HERO)
South Dakota. I've lived in 5 places in this state. All of them small towns and none of them anyone has ever heard of. That sentence is so horribly constructed that it gives me the goosebumps. I apologize!
I live in a town about 40 minutes NE of Baltimore, MD. I've lived here my whole life because I can't imagine moving away from my family.
I grew up in Arkansas and then moved to the east coast when I graduated college. I lived out east for about five years before moving back to Arkansas and then met my husband got married and moved to Washington state...I followed DH around the country (until that got old..then we moved back to Arkansas and he lived all over the place by himself..until that got old and he took a permanant job in MO so we could all be together every night..novel concept) and now we're living in the Chicago area. My poor daughter has lived in 12 different homes in her almost 12 years.
I was born in Northern NJ (Mahwah) and then hopped the border to NY- literally 2 minutes in the car- once I started school. Right now I live in the Hudson Valley, about a half hour from the Bronx when there is no traffic (but that is never, ever the case!). I went to college at SUNY Geneseo in upstate NY, about an hour away from Rochester. Whole different world there!
Well I was born in Whangarei (Near the top of the north island) New Zealand and now live in Leeston (a little rural village) in Canterbury aka shakyville as a result of the earthquakes (middle of the South Island) New Zealand... Have lived in Australia and visited, France and Italy (where I could happily live!)
I live near Sacramento, CA. I was born in southern California, but have lived most of my life in northern California.
Born in a small town close to St. Louis, MO. Grew up mostly in northern Illinois (the Quad Cities). Went to college in Nashville and stayed for a few years. Lived in France for 2.5 years and have now lived outside of Tulsa, OK for almost 6 years.
Born in a small town in Wisconsin. (They used to go door to door and ask people what they did on their vacations and print it in the newspaper.) Moved to a college town in west central Illinois at age 5 (the house my mom still lives in). Went to University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana (where I met DH). Moved to an apartment in Plano, TX about 6 months after I graduated (1990). Moved 6 miles east when we built this house in 1995. (The house in the TV show "Dallas" is about 3 miles up the road from me.)
I was born and raised in Utah (Provo area). Moved to Southern Utah for college, where I met DH. Moved to Philadelphia for a few years, then to Flagstaff, AZ for less than a year, and now we're back in Northern Utah (about an half hour north of Salt Lake City). We've been here for about 4 years and will probably stay forever, which is funny because we both swore we'd never live here! LOL But we do love it and it's worked out for the best.
I was born in Hazleton, PA. My Dad's family grew up there. I moved a lot as a kid and lived in Germany for six years. After college, I moved to the Chicago area and I've been here for the last 15 years. Kim, my DH went to college at U of I too!

Born & raised in Benton, AR, 2 years in New Orleans with my brand new hubby, and then off on our great adventure (though New Orleans was pretty adventureseome) to Indonesia for a year and 9 years in paradise (Malaysia). We just moved to the Philippines in July, and this is where we'll stay (for a while at least).

Lived there 7 years Moved to western Washinton (near Seattle). Lived there 11 years and now I've been in Southern California for the last 14 years. Add it up! That's a lot of years!! LOL
It's so interesting to hear everyone's stories. Mine: Ohio, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, NYC, PA again and then on to Kansas City, where we still live. As soon as DD1 graduates from HS, we will be heading back to the east coast. It's nice here, but I'm an east coast girl at heart.
Laura, I dunno why but for some reason I had it in my head that you live in Ohio now. I certainly miss things about living on the east coast, but I'm a southern gal at heart and would love to be able to move back home. Kellie, I don't know if I mentioned this to you before or not but two of my sisters in law were raised in the Benton/Bryant area, so I've attended two weddings near where you grew up.
