I feel like I might be starting a revolution right here. After 3 years of project 365, blogging our every day and all worthwhile pictures, s well as scrapping them, I am feeling the need to eliminate some of these memory keeping vehicles.

I do not need these stories told in 3 different spots. Not to mention, the sheer volume of all these books that might be passed on to my children and who is going to want me to hand them 18 blog books, 18 scrapbooks. And 18 project 365 books as they walk down the aisle. :giggle

Seriously considering abandoning regular scrapping this year and combining everything into my blog book, including my project Life layouts at the end

Uh- I don't blame you! I can't even complete one of those tasks, so I can't imagine three! I'm definitely in support of simplifying. Besides, its the documentation that's important, not how you do it.

I'm lucky if I can even remember my blog address anymore. I've discussed this with my boys and they really like the scrapbooks best for handing down to their kids. I think they just pass over the journaling parts but then again they're guys that are 27 & 28 so it's understandable. I was just so dang happy that they liked the scrapbooks!

^^^this^^^ But I feel that way because I am not a big fan of blogging lol, so I'd focus on just the scrapping (because that's what I'm best at. I think. lol).

And you gave me this mental image of you walking down the aisle at one of your kids' weddings with a wheelbarrow full of scrapbooks and everyone is watching you like "WHAAAAT?!" Remember, you should never take the focus off the bride! :giggle

This is why I'm so torn abt PL, Melissa. I already do a lot of regular scrapping + AWITL + December Daily. How much more does my life need to be documented?!

I think I'm going to do AWITL + December Daily next year in a PL-esque format and call it good.

I can see myself simplifying to just PL. It captures everything I need - december daily, everyday life, a week in the life, journaling, well everything. And the kids love the day to day memories best. I gave up blogging.

When I started reading this post, I thought...OH NO...please don't give up blogging! Ha! :) I understand the need to simplify, though. Keeping up with blogging, PL and regular scrapping has been a lot for me this year. Whenever anything drops, it's probably my regular scrapping. I figure I can always go back and do pages for fun when I have the time. Project Life is becoming our family's photo-album and I want to continue with that since I don't order prints like I probably should.

I totally feel your pain. I blog a lot, and did Project Life this year on a weekly basis for half the year. I felt like there was a lot of repetition of the same things. I need to think of a way to simplify as well!

That sounds so overwhelming! But good on you for completing them - I can't complete even one.

Melissa, i'm right there with you. i'm the same way - between blogging and PL and facebook and scrapping, i feel like the least important yet most heavily documented person on earth. true. i need to eliminate something. i'm thinking i'm going to combine scrapping and my PL type project for 2013. and i'll still try to blog because it's how my family keeps up-to-date...although sometimes i feel like the blog is more of a chore than an outlet, which is no fun. :shrug

ha. the least important yet most heavily documented person on earth cracks me up. ;)

I know that blogging won't go - the majority of my family lives out of town and it's how they keep up daily. Not to mention that after 6 years of almost daily blogging, it's kind of a habit that would be hard to break. It also includes more personal journaling that I feel probably would never make it to a scrapbook page.

My fear is that a month in, I would be totally bored with doing things just the Project Life way. But I guess there's nothing that says I can't toss in a few regular layouts a month if it makes me feel good creatively. I also still have plenty of older pictures that aren't scrapped. Or without the discipline of Project 365, would I stop taking pictures of anything but events? So conflicted!

I dropped project 365 long ago, when I was no longer inspired to take daily photos, it felt more like a chore. I do want to continue PL as a weekly recap and regular scrapping. Simple sounds great but I want to use all my digital scrapping stuff.

That's exactly what causes my own conflict :) I'm thinking to do only PL-ish style LOs as it can cover almost everything in the most efficient manner but I also want to use the gazillion digi pretties I've stocked up on!
