Yep, I got one and its horrific! Thursday woke up at midnight in drop-to-your-knees in pain. Went to dr Friday morning and pretty much have been in bed since. This morning there's a little relief but I sure don't remember ever hurting this bad.

Goodness! What do y'all do when your little ones get them?

My kids don't really get them anymore, but when they were really little they did. I just kept Motrin going at all times. Hope you feel better soon!

Yea, Motrin. I didn't get my first ear infection until I was an adult and it made me feel for Nicholas who had them back to back in both ears for the first ten months of his little life.

Laying on something warm helps, too. Like a heating pad wrapped in a towel.

Yes, I was going to suggest a warm cloth against your ear, but this is probably even better. Hope it feels better son!

I have never had one that I remember, but my kids all did when they were little. Carter had them pretty often and the poor thing had to get tubes. I have a friend who would get them and she would just be miserable - it is terrible what the kiddos have to go through. I always felt bad because with Carter, he was just quiet and kinda serious, he didn't cry or anything, so sometimes we didn't even know when he had one till it was really bad.

Yep. Drugs seem to work and laying on a damp towel on top of a heating pad. That moist heat helps a lot.

If it's due to liquid inside I would just add JUST ONE drop of alcohol in it... AGAIN JUST ONE DROP!

Oh no, Mel! I get a lot of ear infections - but more of the clogged up and not so painful kind. They still suck. Nasal spray helps too - keeping the sinus clear so that it keeps pressure off the ears from the other side.

One thing my mom always did was to melt a little bit of vick vaporub in a spoon, grab a cotton ball and slightly soak it with the liquid, let it cool for a few secs and then put it in your ear. it should help with the pain. I hope you feel better soon.
