signed up for weight watchers online. i have just been sitting on 20ish pounds that won't seem to go away. i figured i need a boost in examining and changing my eating habits. clearly something is not working, since i've been slowly creaping the wrong direction with my weight. so i signed up for the 3 month trial special they're running online. we'll see how it goes! i gotta say day 1 was rather satisfying, although i was a little hungrier than normal.
You go girl!! You can do it!! I have been working on my 'weight' issue as well. I keep blaming it on having children although my youngest is 10.5, it isn't much of an excuse anymore is it? lol!
I signed up for WW on Jan 1 this year too. The first week I was hungrier, but after that I really feel like my stomach has shrunk and I don't even want to eat more than I'm supposed to. Get through the first week and drink LOTS of water! You'll be amazed how well this works, especially with the free veggies and fruits. That's made all the difference for me. I did WW in 2007/2008 and lost 18 lbs. Well... they found me again and a few more darnnit! I just weighed in tonight and lost 2.4 lbs last week! I absolutely LOVE the recipe builder tool! I can put in my favorite recipes and add stuff and take stuff out until it's a points value I can live with! Let me know if you want any of my favorite recipes that my kids will eat and they fit within daily points easily!
i fail at diets. that's my only consistent success! lol. BUT i'm thinking of doing WW - i've never done it before.
I did ww years ago switched to a different plan now but they do work so once you get the first week over you will be fine.you have done the hard part now by joining well done for that and good luck
I really like WW. If I'm committed and follow the plan, it totally works for me. I suck at maintenance though.
good luck. I did WW a few times, but I really need more motivation. I really hope I can do it again, because it really works for me
I struggle with the maintaining part too cause i stop going and thin k oh well i can have that chocolate now and bang all the weight is back on,this time im continuing to go once i get there
yep, i'm a bit concerned about the maintenance part as well... but i'm going to focus on getting there first and just see what happens. and i wasn't SOOO hungry that I couldn't stand it... it was more that I realized how very often i eat during the day... i guess to instantly curb any sign of hunger. weird. thanks for all the support and encouragement!! here goes day 2. we'll see!!
angie, i totally agree, the online does feed the OCD tendencies nicely. amy, i stink / fail miserably at diets too. in fact, i just don't DO diets. so i'm hoping i can look at this more as retraining myself to consider what i'm eating and less as a diet. plus, i think for me, having something more tangible, like a points value for food, and the ability to earn more points with exercise will help me stay focused a bit better. karen, i'm always up for recipes! last night we had turkey smoked sausage, long grain rice, roasted veggies and steamed broccoli. plus i made strawberries and pudding parfaits... and i still had enough left at the end of the day for 3 thin mints and a glass of milk.
Good luck! I am 2.5 weeks into it and seeing good results. Karen - I'd love some recipes, if you're sharing
I have a couple recipes, but I only have the OLD points numbers. Quick and Easy Salisbury Steaks 5 pts per serving 1 lb ground round 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper cooking spray 8 oz fresh sliced mushrooms 1/4 cup chopped onion (I use the whole onion) 1 tbs chopped fresh or 1 tsp dried thyme 2 tbsp dry sherry or dry white wine 12 oz jar fat free beef gravy Combine first 4 ingredients; stir well. Shape mixture into 4 1/2" thick patties. Coat a large non-stick skillet with cooking spray. Place over medium heat until hot. Add patties; cook 4 minutes on each side or until done. Remove patties from skillet; set aside. Increase heat to medium-high. Add mushrooms, onion and thyme to skillet; saute 3 minutes. Add sherry; saute one minute. Stir in gravy; return patties to skillet. Cook 2 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Garnish with thyme sprigs if desired. Serves 4. ** I usually serve this with rice, for extra points and a super filling dinner!
