Reminds me of when I chaperoned band camp -- so much fun but also just A LOT! Sounds like a great weekend!
We bought a RV yesterday, a dream coming true at last! But since our driveway is a bit narrow we need to widen it a bit and that is hard work, which we have started today. We will pick the RV up in two weeks and the driveway must be ready by then.
OMG, so exciting!!! You have your work cut out for you on the driveway widening but at least you have a great incentive to get it done!
Been on the couch a lot the last 9 days. Twisted my ankle/foot on the 6th so have been keeping it elevated and iced. I'm supposed to be leaving on vacation on Saturday so hopefully it will be OK by then. I can walk but there is still some swelling so shoes don't fit. And, it itches like crazy so I can't even wear slippers... and my feet are cold because of not being covered! I need to do laundry but I can't do the steps to the basement! I could probably go down and walk back up but not with something in my hands on the trip up (have a laundry chute that I throw dirty laundry down so that's not a problem).
Oh no! I hope you recover quickly and won't be too restrited for your vacation! When I broke my leg, compression socks really helped with the swelling but I'm not sure if it works that way for twisted ankles.
My hubby was gone fishing all weekend, so I had my time all to myself. Lol. Saturday morning I did a craft class at my church and then I had a graduation party to go to which had excellent food. Then I spent the rest of the afternoon/evening in my craft room working on a project. Yesterday was all about Father's Day, so I visited my Dad and then took my hubby out to eat with our boys. It was a good weekend.
We went to a conference in Orlando. I learned a lot but I am so so so tired (and sprinting to get to a session on time didn't help) now. We went to Pizzeria Uno's for my mom's birthday while we were up there too. Now I need to figure out how I want to scrap it...
I haven't been to Pizzeria Uno in ages (I'm not sure we have them where I live now) - used to love their pizza! Sounds like you need a vacation from your weekend!
Turns out I have a fracture of the ankle. I told the doctor what I had been doing for the injury and he said it was all the right things. He had me walk and said that my gait is fine also. I showed the doctor the boot I found on Amazon and he agreed that I should order it and wear it. It will be here tomorrow. After seeing the report on my patient portal, I googled the type of fracture and everything I've been doing is what is recommended along with wearing a walking boot. I've got the ankle wrapped but it bugs me. The wrap makes me itch above and below it (not under it though). The doctor after seeing the report is recommending I go to the orthopedic specialist as a walk-in. I'm undecided about that since I have a feeling they will suggest everything I'm already doing. I have a plan for my vacation and the doctor thought it was a good plan so I may go on vacation and see how I do before going to the ortho. The bus tour company is very accommodating for those needing special accommodations as well. We had a gal on the last trip that could walk but used a wheelchair for the walking portions of the trip. This tour has a lot of vehicle tours (whether on our bus or other types of vehicles). The walking portions I can decide how much to do on my own so that I'm not on my feet all the time.
I'm sorry to hear it's broken! It's good that your tour company is accomodating - that should help. I was in a wheelchair last year for our family vacation to Montreal and I was very apprehensive but it worked out pretty well. Good luck!
I'm glad you don't need to cancel your vacation. I hope you have an easy time of things and get to have the maximum fun.
Here's a tiny peek. We made adorable painted/decorated plant pots at the craft class. And my project is a beachy collage project. Tons of gelli prints ripped into pieces and collaged onto a canvas. I think I'm going to go in and add some shadows and a maybe a few places of paint on top, but it's getting pretty close to done...
The best part will be the 2 times I will get to see a scrapping friend that lives in the area. There are 2 times where we have time on our own. One is about 3 hours and the other is almost 2 hours. The 2 hour one is actually in the town she lives in so she is going to come get me and take me to her house to meet her sweet dogs (and see her scrap shack that her late husband lovingly built for her). She is also coming to the other day where we will have a lot more time to talk.
Was a quiet weekend for me....I've been feeling flat this month so haven't really been doing much of anything
