January 22: Large Photo with Pop Out

We are starting the last full week of MOC12! Wowza! How is everyone doing so far? Are you keeping up or are you like me, scrambling to finish the last few challenges on my list. Lol.

For today’s challenge I’d like you to scrap a large photo and then pop out one (or more) part(s) of that photo. The pop out will draw attention to something in the photo that might have gotten lost or overlooked otherwise. In my sample photo, I popped out 4 small sections to show how I made each stocking for my family members and customized the colors for each person’s interests. You only have to pop out one portion of your large photo, but are also allowed. The “large” photo size is up to you, I just want it to be large enough that you can see the pop out.

Quick How To: To pop out a portion of the photo, duplicate the photo and then crop just a small section of it and add shadow to the cropped portion. If the popped out section still blends into the photo behind it you can add a small piece of paper behind to matte it and help isolate it. Or you could also add a simple stroke to draw attention to your popped out part. Make sure the popped out portion of the photo stands out and helps draw attention to that part of your large photo.



Your page for today's challenge must include:

• Scrap a large photo with at least one Pop Out section. The popped-out portion must be of the same photo.
• The size of the original photo should be large enough to see the popped out section. You may resize and/or move the popped out portion of your photo.
• The popped out section of the large photo should stand out using either a shadow, stroke or matte paper.

In addition to the specific instructions above, your page must be a new page in order to count for the Month of Challenges. Your page must be posted in three places:

1. Uploaded to the TLP Gallery (not an outside hosting site).
2. Posted in your page thread you created in the MOC Layouts Folder. You should have one post per completed challenge page. If you complete all 31 challenges, your thread should contain 31 posts. Please do not comment in the participants’ page threads so we can keep them clean.
3. Posted in this thread. People can comment here if they wish.

Your page must contain Lilypad product (pages with photos and font only do not count). Product from other stores will not be allowed for MOC; your pages must contain 100% Lilypad product (current or retired product from designers or guest designers presently selling at The Lilypad).
