January 31: Traveler's Notebook + Connections

WHAT??? What's a Travelers Notebook???????

 

Oh I have the perfect thing! I unexpectedly went on my second ever short term mission trip this last Oct and it just happened to be to the very same country and city as the very first one I went to, two months off 30 years ago! So amazing considering I've been involved in missions the entire time in between in one way or another! I've not done this style before, not keen, but will try!

 

It's like not wanting to turn the page and read the last page of a book, because then it will be over. But here I go anyway....submitting my last layout.
Thanks to ALL the Lilypad staff for making this a most wondrous event. I can't even begin to imagine how much planning, preparation and work this has meant. You are my heroes

 

Oh my goodness. I'll cope with the unfamiliar size but finding a topic will be a big challenge. Hopefully something will come to me as I sleep.

Nancy check out this post here that explains it pretty well.. we did a lot of them during Christmas in July, when I know you had taken a break frrom scrapping... it is basically a small booklet that you can stick in your pocket and just jot notes or stories and put little photos etc in... Hope this helps

I played the TN challenges on july, and simply love the idea! but now, it's hard to think about the theme....

of to live some love on the pages so far, they look fantastic!!

first, excited to see there will be more daily challenges! yay!

second, interesting. So if I understand correctly, I have the format of the layout understood - but the content must be about something connected? Whether it's something unexpected: like when I bumped into a best friend at Disneyworld (she's from NE; I'm from TX) when neither of us knew we were going; journaling about the MN state fair - which I went to as a child almost every year and then back again with my own children; or some other similar thing I did as a child and my kids now do?

do I have it? I have to go to work, but I want to think about it. I have this and yesterday to finish and need to jot down some journaling in my head

 

I think mine isn't going to seem that ODDLY connected, and will just seem to be a then and now. But I'll try to communicate in the journaling how bizarre it is. I have a surreal feeling over this almost weekly.

....Pretty much sums up me reading the challenge this morning. Which is a lot to happen when I first open my eyes in the morning.

But now I'm as to what exactly we journal about. I'm sure its due to my excitement of reading the post too fast and wanting to dive in (and also being the early morning). I will reread it again soon, and check out the example journaling.

 

I'm obsessed with these right now. My gallery has a handful of TN layouts. I'll get started when I get home from jury duty.

 

this was a first for me and a great way to end MOC7. I hope I got the idea with my page that is a "then and now" about a very special place. thanks for a great challenge
