Okay, first off, National Drive Thru Day? I didn't know that was a thing. Like, seriously, who decides these things?

Second, I often feel like this at the drive-in. How about you?

So, which is your favorite drive thru? And which is your most hated drive thru? :driving

My favorite drive thru is actually CVS pharmacy. Because there's a person at the window, and I don't have to talk to a speaker!
My least favorite? McDonald's. I hate their double drive thru. I always pick the wrong lane, and then, there's always the car that wants to get in front of you even when it's your turn! Ugh.

The weirdest drive thru I've seen was a liquor store. Because that seems wrong somehow.....And yes, I know I live in Las Vegas where there's a drive-thru on a wedding chapel.

And in case you wondered....why is this on my mind? Because last week, after going through the drive thru, I had to go into the store to have my receipt fixed. And at that point, I wondered....Why didn't I just go inside in the first place?!?!

I don't know if we have as many drive-thru's here -i know of that chapel and it has always made me scratch my head in confusion & i wouldn't have thought a pharmacy was drive-thru-able! we park and go in even for mcdonalds when we have to b/cos it always seems faster than idling in the queue

I have not been through a drive thru in years... probably the last one was Starbucks. I do not eat fast food so as far as drive thrus for that has to be about 10 years. I have to say Starbucks... regarding receipts etc., when I did go to a drive thru, before leaving I would always check the bag... I hear the comedy guy saying you always get "messed up" at the drive thru! Convenience? sometimes, but if you have to go in to correct things it is no longer convenient.

I really don't like the drive-thru at all. More times than not, I will get out of the car and go in to order even if it's to-go, just to avoid it. I totally agree with you on the double drive-thru at McDonalds...ugh, people lol.

The only drive thru I really use is the ATM drive up window for my bank - once in awhile. Or Starbucks/Dunkin' - money and coffee what else does a girl need?

Sadly we frequent drivethrus more often than I'd like... with traveling all over creation for soccer games and practices that don't end until after 7 or 8:00 at night, sometimes it's a necessity. Usually it's just for the kids though unless we are traveling and then Hubby and I will also grab food. I HATE the double drive thrus and I don't understand how this is supposed to save any time. I do love the new option our newly redesigned McDs has... kiosks inside the store, so even if there's a line, you go to the kiosk, order your food, pay with credit card or even better.... Apple pay and then wait for your order. You don't have to wait for the sullen and bored counterperson to take your order. Winning! :giggle

They also have mobile ordering where you can order on your phone with an app while you're driving there (hopefully the passenger does the ordering) and then they have separate parking spaces where you park and they just run your food out to you. I haven't tried that yet... sounds cool though! Skip the line altogether!

We don’t drive thru very often anywhere! My husband and I did drive thru at a Chick-fil-A a few weeks ago just to get a drink (I really wanted a large water and their ice and cup combination is one of my favorites). It took over ten minutes, which is so unusual as their was only a few cars in front of us. They gave us both drinks for free, though I would have gladly paid to not wait so long.

Other than that, we usually only drive thru very occasionally. The only places we go with any sort of frequency that have a drive thru are Starbucks (for hubby, not me... I don’t do coffee) or Chick-fil-A but we go inside most of the time anyhow.

When we lived in South Carolina, there was a drive through gas station convenient store. After pumping or even if you weren’t, you could drive thru and get the normal stuff you get inside- a drink, snack, that kind of stuff. I never used it but thought it was weird and liked to stare at it when I was the passenger and we drove past.

I think the only drive through I visit occasionally is McDonalds. That's even pretty rare. Then when we do hit up Mickey D's, I make DH go. lol! Occasionally, the bank window... but now with deposits on my phone, that is even less. I usually walk in to get money too.

Fave drive thru is Subway. .... they have a touch screen! Why does everyone not have one of those. Honestly. It is so much better for my anxiety lol

My least fave is McDonalds... I also hate the whole two lane thing. There will be like 4 cars in one stupid lane so I move over just so they can ignore me for a few orders. Then they repeat my order, then I get to the window then they repeat it again and ask if it was me. Then after I pay when I pick up they repeat it again and ask if its me. If you cant keep your system straight maybe you shouldn't be using it. Ughhh.... (apparently I have lots of feelings on this subject lol)

The weirdest I have seen (sice moving here to Alabama *eye roll*) is a DRIVE THRU PRAYER CIRCLE! To each his own, but honestly. On the weekends here one semi rural church has a bunch people out with signs, I honestly thought it was a car wash. Nope. Its a drive thru prayer thingy where you can pray with church members... in a drive thru????

The other day the kids wanted McDonald's. I should have just ordered on the mobile app but I got in the car and went thru the drive thru. Ugh. They were busy but not too bad. I placed my order and got to the window. They asked me to park in one of the numbered parking spaces because my order wasn't ready. That's when the chaos ensued. The manager comes walking out and asked me to pull forward a bit because there were so many cars being parked that the drive-thru was blocked. Ummm...not my fault lady but ok. Staff start bringing out orders for people that were parked way after me. OK...a lady was parked for a soda. Just a soda and they parked her. Seriously took 15 minutes to get my food. The manager was like "do you want anything else for your wait?" I was like "nope. Just get me the eff out of here." That was THE most frustrating visit ever.

I don't know that I have a favorite. Even the Starbucks is always packed. Now I mobile order for there, too.

The only time I drive through is when I'm with my daughters or occasionally my grandkids. I personally don't like them at all. I don't eat fast food so I don't have any reason to go through them. It's just easier to park the car and go inside if I do go for coffee - I go to Dunkin once in awhile, but I can walk inside and get what I want easier. My kids use them daily - I think McDonald's is their go-to. Years ago, McDonald's started that "your order isn't ready - can you go over there and park and we'll bring it to you". That's when I decided it was just easier to walk inside.

About the only drive through I routinely do is for our local pharmacy. At Chick-Fil-A, unless I am in an absolute hurry, I find going in to order is as fast or faster. Though I will say that Chick has been very gracious with freebies when things have been slooooooow. 9 times out of 10 I think it is faster to park the car and go inside than to go through the drive through.

I was so excited about the taco talk on the announcements pad, I went through a drive thru and got a couple tacos for lunch! It's Taco Tuesday.

I'd have to say my favorite drive through would be Panera, because it's my favorite restaurant, but I rarely ever go there (or anywhere out to eat) anymore.
My kids would probably say Sonic, but we pull into one of the parking spaces, not the drive-through.

I don't have a specific hated drive-through, but I've had difficult experiences at drive-throughs, usually because they got the order wrong. Because my daughter has wheat and dairy allergies it's a safety issue. I've gotten good at ordering clearly and emphatically, because in fast food places they're on auto-pilot and asking for something so strange as just meat and veggies without cheese and bread is so hard to understand!

I don't ever do drive throughs because I don't eat fast food so...When I'm traveling, even if there is a drive though, I'll get out and walk and use the bathroom and it's usually Dunkin' for iced coffee. I know dh goes through them because sometimes when I pick a piece of junk on our driveway and go to the trash can outside, there's a tell tale bag - McD's or KFC. I just shake my head...

So the reason I use the drive-through is because my 4yo is a Wendy's junkie/chicken nugget snob (and he goes to Wendy's every Tuesday for lunch with my mom!) so he won't eat other nuggets (or, God forbid, strips!). The rest of us can get food, and then we go home so he can have Tyson frozen chicken nuggets. He hates meat so I've made my peace with him eating frozen chicken nuggets 2-3 times a week so he at least gets the faintest bit of protein. :giggle

We went through the drive-through last night, actually, and for the very first time (although it does not surprise me), this same pain-in-the-butt son started talking and trying to place his order while I was talking. 'I want to order my food, Mama!' etc etc etc. When we pulled up to the window, he's answering the worker's questions at the same time I am and repeating everything that I say 10 seconds after I say it. Lordy. :overreact

Not much of a drive-thru goer....usually because I'm driving a big ol' van and I hate maneuvering that thing around the drive-thru. BUT if I'm going to maneuver around anything it will be for ice cream at DQ.

As many of you know...my town is rather small. We have a main road (it is a rural hiway, that runs the edge of town) that runs perpendicular(on the west side) to the railroad. So on half of the drive thrus (ones on west side) it is common, to have to wait for the train to go thru before ordering. It is that close! lol, but we townies take it with a grain of salt. Visitors and passerbyers, they don't always have patience.
My favorite is Walmart pharmacy, it takes forever, but the folks are so darn kind, you can't get mad, you just want to be nice back.
Since being on low carb, our drive thrus are usually for the boys, and heck they are so easy.
    but...................
    my cheat is frozen custard...
and they have a drive thru...............
