Polly spot.... who's wishing and hoping and dreaming?!?

Yes! I remember when I was doing MOC before I became a Polly and every year when they would announce the person chosen I would say "well, of course...perfect choice".

And yes @cinderella, sometimes dreams do come true!! I was a member here for 4 years before becoming a Polly, did 3 MOC's as a regular member, and had a couple of guest spots. Loved every minute before and every minute since. I still sometimes pinch myself.

But I can say this, every member here is amazingly talented and if you are not chosen, and it's something you would really like, don't give up...there are different needs at different times and you just never know when it might be your time. I am forever grateful mine came around.

 

I agree, is there a froggy position going begging? And is it customer service? Like, *having* to look at every single layout in the gallery - I'd volunteer to take one for the team and do that so very demanding and hard and glorious*chore* for a month, grin.

I would love the opportunity.

I gave up all my CTs a few years ago to take a break and have been itching to join a designer's or store's CT again.

 

I have to say...as a fairly new polly, compared to some of the other pollys (yeah you all know who you are!) I will tell you it's a wonderful spot to be in. BUT even if I was kicked out of Polly land tomorrow, I would still hang around, because EVERY ONE OF YOU make the pad a home!

Honestly, I was lost when Two Peas closed and didn't have a scrappy home for a long time. Then I was venturing into hybrid a little and fell in love with the community here. And the designers, and the Polly's and just everything about the pad. PLUS, I was excited that I could be a hybrid girl here and NO judgement and actual wonder that I play with scissors that cut actual paper on a regular basis! (cough cough, I am looking at you @AnneofAlamo!)

Don't ever give up, because doors open and close when they are meant to. There have been traditional DT's that I was dying to be on and didn't make it. When I look back, I realize that maybe that time I didn't make that team, made me stretch my ability and pushed me to be just a little more creative and think outside the box. And then, a door opens and you are a perfect fit, even if it's NOT the team you were hoping for!!!

The pad is the best place ever and has healed my soul in more ways than one! HUGS and good luck to everyone.

 

You are so on target, I’m one of those senior Polys, more 70 minus than 60 plus!! Being a Poly has put a spring in my step, several skills under my belt, and given me such a warm and dynamic place to call my scrapping home. I feel blessed to have this role. So, hang in there and keep trying no matter your age.

 

ME ME ME!!! I absolutely loved my guest time as a Polly and hosting chats, writing tutorials and hosting the random challenge. I love the pad!! I have completed 5 past MOC's and I am 3 away from completing my 6th MOC.. Praying and Praying to get the Polly spot!!! I have wanted to be a Polly since the very first MOC.

Thanks again for all the fun here at the pad especially the MOC!!!

I think it would be amazing to be a Polly. I wouldn't have even thought my work was good for anyone outside my family until I swallowed that doubt and applied for a CT. And felt so much redemption making the team! So being a Polly is definitely on the goal list, but I'm still enjoying as a member too and MOC pages are some of my favorites for the albums!

 

I did the same thing! made a page. It was such an awesome experience!

So much of this!!! I *LOVED* my guest month, but I could see how it would be too much too quickly if you weren't 100% committed.

I love this place so much, and I'd love to be a somewhat more permanent part of the pad, but I also know how much work it is. If I were chosen, I would gladly accept and do my best, but I do think there are probably far "more loyal" and more deserving scrappers than me. I know whomever is chosen will absolutely be the right choice, as it always is. Please choose me for a guest spot, though... at the very least.

 

This was my biggest scrappy goal for the last few years during MOC!! This team is so much a home and so inclusive!! I got to go to sleep after my MOC guest spot at the end of the year to this news!! I'm honored & so thankful that I see POLLY under my name now!!! GAH!!! This place is amazing!

 

Well you wouldn't have that title under there if you didn't deserve it, my dear!! Just want to shout out a HUGE THANK YOU to all the Pollys for their hard work and dedication here at the Pad. It is so appreciated. I will honestly admit, I couldn't do it. Guest is all I could handle!! As I stated before, I will be rooting for all of you and hope you find your dream!!!!

 

That is so true, Jan. Even though I would love to have that spot more than anything (I'm happy to keep Katrina company over in Hybridland), I feel that Christa, Tracie and Stephanie are more talented than I am (and Christa definitely deserves it more). I'll keep working hard, though, and doing my best to prove myself worthy.

Regardless, I approach it (and everything in my life) with the attitude that if it's meant to be, then that's wonderful. God knows what I can and cannot handle and what is best for me. If it doesn't happen, then it wasn't what is best for me at this time of my life and try to be at peace about it. Regardless, The Pad is my home, and I love this community and everyone in it. Scrapbooking has been my hobby and a huge part of my life for the past 21 years. Neither one of those things will change.

 

to be a Polly is a dream since the day I started scrapping, back in 2000 and something!! once I was a guest Polly, I think the year was 2011...lol!! I took a break from the scrap world, because lots of things happened and I couldn't find time and mojo to create anything.
this is my first MOC and I'm having the best time here at the Pad, scrapping and seeing so many familiar faces, I'm glad I decided to try the challenges!!

 

Uuuuummmm, hmmmmm, uh, YEA-UH!
I love all the variety of challenges, designers, - - and the whole atmosphere of this site is incredible. The activity in the forum is a testament to the quality of this site, and besides, it is the only place where the majority(95%) of my digi stash comes from. I look other places, but always come back here due to the artistry of the designers!

I think I'd rather get a Polly spot straight out than guest first. I think I'd be spending the whole guest spot worried about if I'd be kept or not. I've never been asked to guest as a Polly in my 6 years here & that's why I'm ok with it. I just love to scrap & am so grateful to be on 4 amazing teams. The Lilypad's my home.

I think it sounds like an amazing opportunity, but one I'm not prepared to handle in this season of life with three boys ages 5 and under and baby #4 on the way. Just getting in time to shower, let alone scrapbook without interruptions is tough right now.

But I'm cheering y'all on! There's so much talent and love here at the Pad!
