JANUARY 25th : COMBINE {these particular} TWO TEMPLATES Oh, this is the best challenge ever! And I get to host it! Yay, me Two of our wonderful designers have been kind enough to prepare templates for us to use for today's challenge, so big thanks to both Lynn Grieveson and Scrapping with Liz! Combining templates is a really cool way to put a new spin on things you already have in your stash, which in turn gives you a great excuse to purchase more templates . It's also a great way to challenge yourself to use things that you might not ordinarily have considered initially. For this challenge you need to combine both of the templates provided and create yourself a new template from them to make a new layout. You can resize, twist, shrink, move, and move again... the only guideline is that we need to be able to CLEARLY see that you have used BOTH templates in your final layout! NOTE: You must use the two templates provided and only these two templates. Click here or the image below for a link to the FREE template set. To combine both of the templates into one layered document in Photoshop: 1. Open both templates in separate windows/tabs. 2. Select all of the layers of one template and drag all of theses layers directly onto the other template. 3. Move things around as needed And here's a link to a detailed Tutorial on Merging Templates from the Learning Pad! Here's an example I created using these fun templates: Fine Print... Your page must be a new page in order to count for the Month of Challenges. Please post your page in your page thread you created in this forum. You should have one post per completed challenge page. If you complete all 31 challenges, your thread should contain 31 posts. Please do not comment in the participants’ page threads so we can keep them clean. You should also post your page here in this thread, and people can comment here if they wish. Pages should contain at least 75% current Lilypad product (currently for sale in the store from either permanent designers or guest designers). Have fun!
What a fun challenge! I look forward to combining these two templates! Thanks for the templates and I love your example page!
Tips from a previous thread on template merging: Another way to do this (esp. for those of us with small screens ) that doesn't involve having to see more than one template at a time: You can have them open in tabs or overlapping windows, and instead of dragging to a new window, right-click and choose "Duplicate Layers..." There's a dropdown that will let you duplicate the layers to the other template. Learning this changed my tiny-laptop-screened life. Hope it helps someone else! In Corel PaintShop: Create a Layer Group of one template, and cut and paste it into the other template.
This is way new to me. Do you have to use every single piece from each template, or can we mix/match?
I am not an official answered but I think it's mix and match. Jen's example has 2pictures and the journaling space from one template but all the papers and strips from the other.
What a fun challenge! I actually had already done this for the ad challenge and pulled some triangles from one template onto another! Thanks for the inspiration! https://the-lilypad.com/forum/galleries/moc-25-hello-happy.237814/
I don't have PSE but when I googled around a bit, it seemed like it's been in PSE for several versions.
