I'm new to the lilypad. I started the month with the intention to buy 3 kits and stretch myself to use them for all the layouts this month. I'd only be out $20 or so, and then I'd get the $20 at the end of the month, and it would be a zero sum thing. Yeah. That didn't happen. $80? That's probably underestimating. I don't want to look at the actual number. Spent another $13 today. But I neeeeeded it! Plus I'm going to Disney next week so obviously I needed a project mouse bundle... Don't tell my husband, ok?
about $67 this month. I did just go back and look at all my kits from TLP and I have way too much stuff that hasn't been used. I better get on that STAT.
the best part is you can reuse it a million times...this is the joy of digi scrapping! Imagine, if you spent what you did on paper scrapping... the mess one page done, maybe more, but not many more...and then you would have to have photos printed, and blending is FREE in digi! and oh you all are saving money daily!
You're making me feel better about my "splurge." My goal was to spend less than $10 here this month and I felt a little bad about going over that. I really shouldn't be spending money.
Right! The only reason I'm buying at all is because I think I want to make TLP my home, and participate in the challenges, and I hadn't owned anything currently in the store when I arrived here a few weeks ago.
michele! I did the same 4 years ago. I had been a CT scrapper only. Bought a few kits here and there, but not really. I flitted around the digiworld. This challenge (the first MOC) was the first time I "invested" in my craft. I was just driven to scrap, and create for me! I love that feeling. Then the $20 coupon was incentive to justify also! bhahah hey, I don't think I ever got that either? what?
Its fun knowing I'm not alone in the "should-never-have-spent-as-much" category! But I love TLP stuff too much to feel guilty about. I have also become more disciplined in using what I have before I buy some more I dare not go and see my totals in the orders category and advise you all to do the same!!!! LOL
I STILL have "real" papers that I don't want to cut up because I only have one and they are so pretty...lol! I have found that my little (free) Airtable sheet (mentioned it in the "organize, organize, organize" thread) is awesome for helping me use the stuff I have ...because I might be guilty of having so much that I forgot I even had it....
$36.57. Could have been worse! I had a couple of coupons and also the birthday sale helped (or hindered depending on perspective).
I've been shopping here for years so I didn't really need stuff for MOC, but there were several items that I just had to have and I always take advantage of a sale! Plus, I caved and finally signed up for the just jaimee storyteller subscription! I'm kind of afraid to check my order total! I know it's at least 3 or 4 times what I usually spend in a month!
I used the birthday sale to just go, "what the h377, lemme just clear out my wish list." My go-to layout is a Fiddle Dee Dee {dressed up} template with a ForeverJoy kit. A cleaner layout usually warrants a Scrapping with Liz template. Since I already own all of Renne's kits, I branched out and bought some new products. I'm looking forward to playing with them. I really like how my art journal layout turned out and a blue double pager I made earlier this week.
Ha ha!! This post made me laugh!! I have bought a couple One Little Bird kits (how have I not seen her stuff before??). I haven't spent much YET but I have a wishlist going!! I'm on a couple CTs and typically only scrap with their stuff but there are some designers here I will be closely following going forward!!
Ooops forgot to add in the Storyteller Subscription! Think I might have done that in December though so it doesn't count, right?
I did MOC last year so bumped my stash then. I also had a bunch of stuff from the new designers so I figured I wouldn't spent much this month. Well, I had to look at what I should use for my 2016 book and then there was a sale. I spent more than I should have but less than I could have !
I remember spending quite a bit my first MOC. At the time I may have had a couple of Valerie Wibben's kits and a couple from Sahlin Studio. I tried to make those stretch but then I saw all the gorgeousness in the store and you know the rest… And I was like @AnneofAlamo thinking - it's worth it for that $20 coupon, right!
