Let's start a book club here at The Pad! It's kinda late notice, but I thought I would pick three books and we could vote on them. :) I would like to do one book a month, but if that doesn't seem doable let me know and we can do 6 weeks or 2 months or a quarter. Let's shoot for 1 a month though for now, ok? I will start a thread in the READING PAD for nominations for February and then the last week of Jan we can vote on those. I'll post a chatter thread as well once we have our book choice and if you guys want to have a chat at the end of the month we can do that too!

Here are my three choices for January...hopefully they aren't awful? Or they aren't ones everyone has read?!

    The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr (I know this one is a wee bit older but I have heard it's amazing and it's been on my list forever..lol)
The Lake House by Kate Morton

Good picks!! I voted for All the Light because the last two plane rides I've been on, the people next to me were reading it. Makes me feel like maybe I am *supposed* to read it too! :)

Mmmmm - I'm already planning on reading the Kate Morton between Perth and San Francisco next month. Reckon I could probably squeeze the Doerr into my suitcase as well!

Love the idea! This kind of club always gets me out of my book comfort zone (I've been on a zombie spree recently... don't ask - but if the zombocalypse ever happens... I'm your girl), so I'll be up for what ever gets chosen.

I'm an audible lover too - funny how many of us have mentioned that medium!

The nightingale was wonderful. I wouldn't mind reading it again. I tried to rush through it on my last cruise and then missed book club on the ship.

I'd love to get myself back to reading more! Great idea!

The Lake House sounds more to my liking, but I will happily try any of the books. :happyclap

    I can't decide.....

@AnneofAlamo my mom has a sister that lives in St. Helena. My uncle works for Beringer. She loves visiting and coming home with a bunch of wine.

I'm going to give it a go and I'm game for any of them! Being such a bad reader for so many years, I haven't read any of these yet.

I love the idea of a book club and I want to get back into reading. I can devour a book in days when I get into it, so one per month is great. Any longer and I might forget too many details before the group gets to discuss it.

I will vote later when I'm on my computer instead of phone and can navigate more easily. All those titles are new to me so I must research. I'm very open to trying new things though.
