I’m getting ready to fly for the first time since 2007! Eek! How do you feel about flying on an airplane? If you could fly anywhere where would you go?
How do you feel about flying on an airplane? I loved flying when I was younger but the older I get the more motion sick I get so I’m afraid the flight is going to make me sick. I can’t decide if I take meds just in case or don’t take meds and see how it goes. If you could fly anywhere where would you go? The moon!
How do you feel about flying on an airplane? I love flying! The only thing that scares me are ticket prices. If you could fly anywhere where would you go? Japan.
We fly a few times a year but I’m still a bit of a nervous flyer. I definitely don’t love the process but I consider it a necessary evil. We just flew 15 hours to Korea which is the longest flight I’ve ever been on! The last 3-4 hours were brutal.
How do you feel about flying on an airplane? I don't mind it at all though I've only done less than 4 hour flights for a number of years now. If you asked me after a 12-14+ hour flight, my answer would probably be much different! If you could fly anywhere where would you go? Probably Europe or Eastern North America though I know the flights are brutal due to how far away I am
How do I feel about flying on an airplane? I love flying on a plane (As a child my Uncle had a piper private plane and he and my aunt would fly in to Long Island to visit us from New Jersey. We would go up in the plane and my Uncle would circle around our town and it was so fun to see who had pools!! This was when I was around 8 - in 1969.. I think my first commercial plane flight was when I was 16, flying back home to New York from Florida.) If I could fly anywhere, where would I go? I am still enamored with the UK, Ireland, Germany and all around the US!
Honestly with all the years working for the airlines and all the long flights I've taken I still hate flying . For me it hurts really bad as my ears in the inside are the size of a toddler and struggle to pop back once in air. It also messes with my vertigo big time. But I love seeing new places so in the end is worth it I guess If I could go anywhere right this moment it would of course be my husband's arms .. bur I'd also love to see a new country as well.. maybe Germany or Scotland... Bali is on my list too
How do you feel about flying on an airplane? I love flying, but I hate how long it takes before and after the flight. If you could fly anywhere where would you go? Hmm... somewhere exotic and far away like Fiji or Hawaii! Monica, I'd say if you're stressing about feeling sick, just take some of the non-drowsy Dramamine and then you'll know you won't get sick. If you do get sick, the medicine might not kick in fast enough to even help... so why risk it! I hope you have a great flight!
I don’t mind flying. I actually prefer to fly rather than do a long road trip. The whole getting through security and finding a spot for my carry-on during boarding is usually what makes me the most nervous about flying. I had only flown once or twice a year before we moved to Georgia. Now I’m flying every month or so to see our kids/grandkids. Some of them just left our house this morning… I flew to Utah a couple of weeks ago and I’ve got three more flights/trips (Utah, Texas, Oklahoma) scheduled over the next six weeks. Thank goodness I got TSA pre-check and digital ID! That makes getting through security, a lot easier. @umyesh Monica try Bonine, it’s a nondrowsy motion sickness medicine that worked for me on our cruise. Ginger is also good for motion, sickness, so you could get a ginger ale on the flight. Hope you don’t get sick and have a great time on your trip!
I totally dislike flying! I just want to get it over with! I do love travelling though, so I need suck it up! I would for sure go back to Japan in a heartbeat! But to be honest, I would go anywhere, I just love visiting new places and seeing new things!
How do you feel about flying on an airplane? I haven't done it in forever but I don't hate it. Trying to equalize the pressure in my ears is hard because I can't manually pop them. I love taking photos out the window though. Being in the medical boarding group has made life so much easier for me because I can get to my seat and sit down sort-of at my own pace. I hope to never have a repeat of my last international flight though: 13ish hours in the center seat of the center section with sleeping people on both sides of me. Thank goodness the grandma to my right said to just climb over her and go see my friends (and that she hopes someone does that for her grandkids). If you could fly anywhere where would you go? My husband wants to show me all the sights in Germany from when his dad was stationed there, my bestie moved to France while I was pregnant and basically lives in a fairy tale now, and my uncle keeps taunting me with the Neon Boneyard in Vegas. But I think the flight I want most right now is the seaplane to the Dry Tortugas with my camera, since no one would let me bring it when I was getting married there.
How do you feel about flying on an airplane? I love flying. If you could fly anywhere where would you go? I would love to go to Brisbane, Australia, to meet up with an online friend. It would be an 24h flight, but I wouldn't mind.
Similar to this ... I don't mind flying, but I do get anxious about driving to the airport, finding a parking spot, catching the shuttle to the terminal, getting through security, and getting to the gate ... so many variables. The last couple of flights I've been able to gate check my carry-on so I don't have to find a spot for it or lift it up ... I love that option. I'm heading to California this coming Thursday with my adult granddaughter, we are bringing "checked bags" so that's got me a bit nervous (what if they don't arrive with us???). I prepaid for a parking spot in one of the garages near the terminal. And I've never flown into San Diego and we'll need to take a shuttle to the rental car pickup/return building. So many things could go wrong ... but probably won't ... still ...
How do you feel about flying on an airplane? In general, I like to fly. I hate the process of being super early & all the security BS, but flying itself is fine. I tend to either read or sleep. Currently, I'm not as confident that it's as safe as it used to be to fly with the current air traffic control situation, but I still have a flight coming up. I just wouldn't fly into Newark right now! lol If you could fly anywhere where would you go? Australia, New Zealand is def on the bucket list
How do you feel about flying on an airplane? Never minded it although it has been 12 years since I have been on plane. There have been so many changes in security and even ticketing that I'm sure I would be so confused trying to navigate it myself. If you could fly anywhere where would you go? Plans are in the works for going to Australia and New Zealand on a tour in 2027. There is a high possibility of me going on a tour in 2026 that will require flying. I think that would be a good way to ease myself back into it. I mean the tour will do all transport to the airports and help navigate airport and check-in. That will make me feel much more comfortable about flying again.
It's a necessary step, but if driving (time and distance) is possible I'm all for driving I would really like to go to NZ and Australia!
Feeling: I don't mind flying. Flying was a pretty big job of my former career (international tax accountant), so I've got it figured out to a science. Dramamine is a must, the perfect neck pillow, and noise cancelling headphones for long flights. I also travel with a half-length MELT roller and MELT balls so I can loosen up before the flight, during layovers, etc. Snacks that are super-yummy even though they take extra prep-time, so I have something really joyous on the plane, like a container of strawberries with a big tablespoon of marscapone cheese, a drizzle of honey, and a few pine nuts. I've had more than one jealous row-mate eye my snacks! Travel: My next "anywhere" is hopefully Argentina on the way to Antarctica. It's ridiculously prohibitively expensive to fly into Antarctica, but flying to Argentina and catching a cruise to the continent from Buenos Aires is a bit more doable.
I'm usually excited about the flight TO my destination, and neutral about the flight home. I flew for the first time -- in a small plane -- around the age of 19 (my sister's husband has a pilot's license). My first jet plane flight was in the mid-90's, from LA to Seattle, with my husband. I was very excited and loved it. I've flown many times since then, especially after moving from California to Virginia, and I've even flown roundtrip across the Atlantic three times. I'm good at occupying myself with reading and journaling and such, so the worst part is just feeling cramped in a small space sometimes. So many places I'd like to go . . .
How do you feel about flying on an airplane? I love flying! I would fly everywhere if I could lol If you could fly anywhere where would you go? Bora Bora or Maldives
How do you feel about flying on an airplane? I don’t mind flying but not during peak times. I like to go places during shoulder season or cruise. If you could fly anywhere where would you go? Currently looking at a flight which would put me in London this Fall. From there hoping to fly to FINLAND. I also have Antarctica on my bucket list. I like to take Ginger Chews on a trip. I also carry Dramamine but mostly for cruises since However, I’ve never felt sick on a plane, just at sea. Since I’m a frequent traveler and put EVERYTHING on my Chase travel card (always paid in full), I earn lots of points. I just recently flew back from Europe to the U.S. using points which cost me nothing. I did make the mistake once of wearing my contacts on a 10+ hour flight and they messed my eyes up pretty bad. I always bring my glasses on those long flights now. Also take advantage of my Priority Pass which gets me into the Airport Lounges & TSA pre-check (through my credit card). That takes some of the hassle and stress away. FYI - I heard there are problems if you fly out of Newark Airport right now. They have runways closed for construction. Safe but about an hour delay getting off the ground because of this. Enjoy your travels Monica and just pack some patience and you will be fine.
