My hubby buys fresh green coffee beans, roasts them (our grandson loves to help) and then we have a grind and brew coffee maker. My daughter just bought an expresso machine that uses coffee beans, so we supply her now!
I don’t have a grinder, but if I go to a grocery store with a grinder or Starbucks I will grind the whole beans. I think it tastes better.
I tried this using a hack I found online where you rig an air popcorn popper to roast your beans. They actually came out great but I didn't love the roasting smell that permeated my hair, clothes, EVERYTHING. So, I buy pre-roasted beans and grind fresh every day. It does make a difference, IMHO.
Mostly coffee beans. I have a Burr grinder that I bought at Costco a couple of years ago, and I now love the taste of coffee made with freshly-ground beans. I'm not a coffee snob, though: I will also happily drink a cup of Joe made from ground coffee.
Fresh ground coffee is the best! But I go for cheap...as in Maxwell House already ground (Folgers if it's on sale). I used to do K cups but I want to recycle more...and cleaning out the coffee from the cups was a PITA.
I don't drink coffee, but hubby does. He used to drink whatever cheap ground dark roast he could get his hands on. Since I started working at a coffee shop last year though, he now has me bring him beans. He bought himself a grinder and will grind about a week's worth at a time. He is a complete convert and threw out all the cheap coffee we had on hand, which says a lot since he is very frugal.
Coffee Beans, and talking about beans... my sister sent Bianca and I a huge bag of this coffee that she "researched" that was good for black coffee. Bianca and I only drink black coffee.... we couldn't stand it. Do we tell her? Apparently, the makers thought that they needed to add flavoring to the coffee and it is FRUITY. More like a tea/coffee mix, but not well done. What do you gals think?
Beans! I think I am a bit of a snob though...I drink it black - so it has to be smooth! We grind beans and use a pour over method of brewing. Our favorite coffee is Wolfgang Puck's roasted beans! I host "ladies coffee" periodically and get rave reviews on my coffee...
Neither. Coffee is banned from my house. Lol! I really hate the smell and taste of the stuff, so my husband has to get his coffee fix from the coffee shop!
Neither! I don't drink coffee, but my hubby recently started drinking coffee and uses coffee grounds. Dunkin Dark or I think they renamed it Dunkin Midnight now.
