Translation of the song
A sweet song
What did my mother sing to me?
Sucking my thumb
I listened while falling asleep
This sweet song
I want to sing it for you
Because your skin is soft
Like wood moss
The little deer is at bay
In the wood, the wolf hides
Ooh, ooh, ooh ooh
But the brave knight passed
He took the doe in his arms
The, the, the, the
The little doe
It will be you if you want
We don't care about the wolf
Against him there will be two of us
A sweet song
What did my mother sing to me?
A sweet song
For all little children
Oh what a lovely tale this is
The doe, into a woman, changed
The, the, the, the
And in the arms of the handsome knight
Beautiful princess she stayed
For ever.
The beautiful princess
Had your pretty hair
The same caress
Read in the depths of your eyes.
This sweet song
I want to sing it too
For you, oh my sweet
Until the end of my life
And my Text:
When I read this challenge, this song instantly came to mind, like it was obvious. Since I was little, I have heard it often on the radio or on television.
I learned it at school, at summer camp. We sang it at home. Later, when I worked at the nursery, I still sang this sweet song to the children.
You could say that it has followed me all my life.
