Journaling: "January 25, 2013 ... 5:30am- Well we slept in an hour more this morning as I had the day off from my excercise workout. After getting up and making the we watched the news to see what was going on. Once again for the 3rd day in a row, very low temps outside and the weatherman was talking about snow starting in the afternoon around 3:30-4:00pm. At this point my thoughts were on Mom. 23 years ago it was around 6:30-7:00 when I got a call from my friend that she needed to come over before work. She broke the news to me that Mom passed, as my father called her not wanting me to be alone when I found out. I think about Mom daily, but today was different. I started making breakfast after quick checking my emails and the TLP to see what the daily challenge was. Breakfast made, dishes cleaned up, and by this time it was around 8:00am. The morning also had thoughts of my nephew who was graduating Naval Boot Camp at 6:30am Illinois time. Such a proud day!!! In addition last night we had heard the sale of Dad's house was going to go through so there was a lot to think about, and celebrate. We decided we would go to dinner around 4:30 to avoid the Friday night rush. Around 2:30 I jumped in the shower to get ready to go, and when I was done drying my hair and all, I went out on the front porch to see tiny flurries floating around! It has been a long while since we had snow, and so I was like a school kid, getting all excited! By 4:00 it had already started to stick to the roads, and I was like oh no... but hubby said not to worry we will still go out to celebrate the day regardless. What normally is about a 15 minute drive to the restaurant was 30 minutes and it was already starting to ice up, but dinner was lovely. By the time we got home there was already 2 inches over the ice, but what a beautiful sight! The rest of the night was spent talking to my brother to hear about the graduation and looking at precious photos! " TFL
