Tape, Washi Tape, Taped Papers, Sticky Tape, Lables, Sewn up Tape, and more Tape. I don’t know about you but I want my pages to have that paper look. Part of that in my mind is that the things on the page aren’t all on it with invisible glue dots! Staples and stitches and tape! This Trend Watch is all about tape. The first thing that comes to my mind is Scotch tape, it is a brand of adhesive or sticky tape. The first invention was in 1930, and it was Cellulose tape. During the Depression, buying new was out of the question, so people taped things together.
The process for making it is very amazing:
1) Film backing is created
2) Pressure-sensitive adhesive added to film
3) Backing and adhesive combined into a jumbo roll of tape
4) Roll cut into smaller rolls or strips
Fast forward 85-90 years add some Washi spice and computers and some remarkably talented designers like the Lily Pad has, and you have some remarkable Washi Tape. Decorative tape to use not just to hold something down, but to accent and add color, designs or just a fun bit to your page! The TREND Watch is a great time to stock up on all your TAPE needs, wants and wishes, because they are on sale 20% off for this challenge!
